Bandaluthia (again and still)

Len posts: 1095 United Kingdom

I am proud to be a player in this game, and wish to see its history preserved. In order that a fuller history exists, I have ported the text of previous posts on the old Meetup forum here. I have taken the liberty of reinstating my name into my own posts as A former member is an affront which I no longer have to tolerate.
I do not have the time to port all images and other features used in the original forum, but the essence is here.

The Previous history of this game discussion.

Now, about this key.

The write ups are being slowly dragged over. So if everyone thinks the same way, and never wishes to look back on past conversations, that will work.

I know I would prefer them to be there as it is something that I have occasionally used. I shall look at ways to bring them across as some form of archive.

Len

Len posts: 1095 United Kingdom

Write Ups are now all brought over. Only 54 Pages worth. Bruce's 55 & 56 are copied from the forum to their own pages. I have got 57 ready to go, and when who ever writes that up sees how the image is done, its just a matter of copying what is now in 57 to 58 which is ready to be created.

The Wonderful thing is that if you link to a non-existant page, the system automatically creates a ? link to it, which will automatically create it in edit mode. So 58 does not yet exist, but if you have the right to make it as you all do, you could do so just by clicking on it.

I shall do the same with your character's pages. Coolio, Ti Ying, and Pandora's pages all exist already.

I'm tired now, and also need a bath.

Bandaluthians,

It seems we have a ship. I've asked Thelonius to help us disarm the curses on it. I then suggest a refit, new figurehead etc. I'd really like red sails, though of course Ratsel only has one vote. Not fussed on the name. So, here it is. The naming competition ...

I also suggest we set up some office fot our import-export business in the ground floor of 22 Acacia Avenue, with gold name plate etc.

Bandaluthia 57

The group were elated at the recovery of the key, but troubled by the loss of one of their number. They buried Jacob’s torn body, aware that his soul was on the Abyss.

For five weary days they journeyed east, toward the nearest port. On arriving in Porta Luca they found themselves surrounded by various lowlifes – thieves and vagabonds. They felt at home straight away. Heading for a dockside inn, they spotted the port. Five tall ships stood prominent in the body of water. Rätsel, Gannon, Shaniqua and Orc found a quiet corner and had a drink. Ellodee and Ti Ying went out, trying to secure the group passage. They returned with a lead and later that day met the Captain of the Maiden. He agreed to take them to Bandaluthia, for a handsome price.

That night Orc fought the local prize-fighter and won a heroic fight. As darkness closed the shutters were barred to hold fell creatures at bay.

The next morning the Captain of the Maiden came to the inn. The deal, it transpired, was off. The Maiden’s wizard had received dark portents in a dream, and the Captain was not willing to go against devils and demons for any amount money.

The Animals then sought passage on another vessel – The Saxon. Their subtle plan unfolded. Ellodee charmed the first mate. Alas, the Captain resisted her charms. A different strategy was called for and the group stormed the ship. The Captain was killed, rendered invisible, and Ellodee transformed herself into the likeness of him.

The group then approached the Captain’s cabin, encountering The Saxon’s wizard. A brief battle ensued, and he was killed. Ellodee, posing as the Captain, shouted orders, and the vessel got under way. The crew took fright on discovering the takeover. However, after negotiations they were persuaded to rejoin on the proviso that they travelled to Jonger first, to pay the fee which kept the Ship’s curse at bay. The Animals agreed and the ship set sail once more.

As night closed in the Animals were roused. Creatures, it seemed, had been spotted. The party went out on deck and were dismayed to find an old enemy – succubi – flying about the ship. What did this imply? Would battle be joined or could the creatures be negotiated with? What of the Ship’s curse. These questions, and many more, would be answered in the next thrilling episode of Bandaluthia.

Bruce, Please try writing this into the page designed specifically for it as I posted above.
It will save me a lot of work if I don't have to keep copying it.

Special-Lovers,

58 is up. Ratsel-heavy this week. Sorry. I've been good about this lately though (partly because we've been playing the other two groups mind ...).

Nice one Bruce.

I also saw your hints on the "other place". Very restrained of you two. If it had been me, I would have put links to this place in there as where the conversation was continuing. Don't have to say we are moving, but repeated links to here will help get the message across.

Maybe time for a BBC Announcement that:

Crackle hiss

Allied forces are continuing their onslaught on enemy held territory. Great swathes of former enemy held land have been returned to freedom.

Fighting troops have been reinforced by fresh well equipped forces, and progress is said by the general staff to we well in advance of expectations.

Crackle hiss.

Also, I don't know it it is concious rebellion or not, but you could also copy the bit that says:

::{IMG(fileId="56")}{IMG}::
!!Bandaluthia Session xx

into the top of it to add the image and title. That would keep it consistant with the rest.

Going back to the ships name, the 1st mate is called Buckley, and although he wants to call the ship "The Radiant Elodee" or some such besotted guff, he also mentions "The Scarlet Charlotte" as ratsel has had the ships sail redone in red.

This is a reference to 22 Acacia Ave, as Charlotte the Harlot lived there. Or the Ship could just be "The Harlot" which is basically what she is. Passengers pay money to get in her!

PS, make sure everyone brings all 3 of their characters tomorrow. We will most likely play the ones from the ship, but we could also play the Brolin incarcerated guys too. Finally, next week we will play the low level guys, so may touch upon them too.

Hi All,

Len, I'm finding that tricky to cut-and-paste. Can you email it?

Animals,

Thelonius thinks the ship will cost about 50,000gp to strip-out and refit, including curse-breaking.

What do we think?

Ratsel

Len posts: 1095 United Kingdom

Was it Belkar or Roy who rolled the one?

Jacob's money (5,000gp) was previously absorbed into the general fund. We can reimburse him when he makes it back from the Abyss. Note sure whether Tyler agreed to pay us 9,000gp for her cursed tattoo. I’ve left it in her personal account in the meantime. The refit and curse-breaking of the Red Charlotte cost 50,000gp and we have paid 50,000gp off our debt to Ruth, hence the drop from our previous total. The sale of the magic eye netted 14,500gp, we've paid the crew a month's wages up front and bought 1000gp of wool. This brings us to the following:

Funds in Safe
Tyler – 9,000gp

Assets
Rising Sun Restaurant
Red Charlotte (Tea-Clipper)
15,050gp
1,000gp in wool (Red Charlotte)
5 elven cloaks (Rising Sun)
5 pairs of elven boots (Rising Sun)
Small Box of Disappearing (in safe, Rising Sun)
4 +1 magic longswords, available for sale at Morningstar Arms and Armour.
5 +1 magic chain shirts, available for sale at Morningstar Arms and Armour.

Rent paid on 22 Acacia Avenue, 6 months
Rent paid on the Wizard’s Tower, 6 months

Liabilities
Debt to Ruth - 450,000gp
