Bandaluthia : Session 1

The characters:

Hermano Conio. “Coolio” - Halfling cleric.
Shaniqua. “Shan” - Half drow / half wild elf.
Unknown. “Hellhound” - Half Dwarf / Half orc
Tyvin “Sailorboy” - Halforc
Ratsel “The Devil” – Tiefling

This band of miscreants have ended up in the basement of a rather good brothel. They have wintered over in comfort, as none of them have ever had it so good. One late winter morning they went off to earn their keep by first mugging, then conning a large fat lady of her shopping. Whilst “undercover detective” Coolio assures the lady the bags are needed for “evidence” The two other “undercover detectives” Ratsel and Sailorboy arrest the mugger “Hellhound” and forcefully take him away. The actual culprit, who knocked the baggage boy out, bravely hides in a cart. Ratsel leads the other two off into unknown parts of the city where they duck down an alley to be confronted by a thug. Sailorboy and Hellhound easily overpower the thug (although Ratsel ‘killsteals’ at the last moment) and the three run off to join up with the other two.

Upon arriving home (as they must stow the sausages they stole off the fat lady) they return to a scene of law enforcement officers, a mage and two inept acolytes and 9 dead bodies. Here they find the home they’ve had for only a few months (but for a few their only home) has been destroyed. The occupants of the house, Pete, his six whores and two of his muscle lay slain. There is but a sole survivor, Sam the last of Pete’s muscle, and he has little idea of what happened. The mage beckons Ratsel and asks him to find out who has done this. The town guard sergeant asks Coolio (in an unofficial capacity) to avenge the house. The five search the house, more for personal gain than clues, but do find a ‘Keffiyeh’ (and Arab style headdress)

Shan and Coolio seek help in a local pub; The Satyr & Sickle, where Shan believes the Guild operate from. Ratsel, Hellhound and Sailorboy seek lodgings in The Whip pub. Here they are offered free lodgings for a night and free booze. Ratsel declines and takes his leave to rest up, but the other two take full advantage of the free booze. Sailorboy lasts but half an hour before he is put unconscious into the alleyways, but Hellhound has found his inner fish!

Shan and Coolio find a man who calls himself ‘Dave’ and gives them information to help them avenge his old friend Pete and the girls. ‘Dave’ sends out runners and within but a few minutes the Guild man has info. He tells them of a Northern Jonger group who have a warehouse but a few doors away. He offers Shan and Coolio the use of the pub for today, but tells Shan that she should align herself to a guild before long. He also tells them that they would not be welcome after today, as he knows they are also doing the town guards bidding, and does not want their attention.

What will Shan and Coolio do next? How will Ratsel feel when he comes down after his dedications to the cause to find Hellhound and Sailorboy completely wasted and useless for the rest of the day?
