Alan posts: 321 United Kingdom

Okay I felt the need for a thread dedicated to the lighter side of life and that ain't gaming related (always). So I started one.

So to get the ball rolling the delightful Elder Sign.

And here we have spiders, subjected to drugs:

Ileandra Young posts: 116 United Kingdom

Waaat? No comics?!

Come on folks!
You will laugh your back off, honestly! http://www.lfgcomic.com/
This is what we all are... deep inside anyway: http://www.weregeek.com/2006/11/27/

Alan posts: 321 United Kingdom

comics are a bit of a given really, and not necessarily as singularly funny. Taken as an overall, yeah Dork tower is funny but most things here-in have been stand alone rib tickling.

At any rate here is a bit of both, the most recent and at time of writing still most current tasty flesh comic:

booty call of....

The whole thing is pretty cool but that one, that one is proper gamer funny to boot. But then I've that not undeserved reputation for being a zombie kind of a guy.

Alan posts: 321 United Kingdom

And here we have something that might just need to be bought, well by me at least:

Cthulhu: The Funksical

And you can preview the whole album freely.

Len posts: 1095 United Kingdom

Here is one that given the previous posts is perfectly apt. However, whether everyone will see the funny side remains to be seen.

Cthulhu lives. And here is the proof.

The Wikipedia article.

A potentially more reliable source.
Beware, the second link contains a potentially disturbing image that is actually perfectly work safe, and not just for those of you with "specialised" jobs.wink
But as a word of warning, it just might cause a sanity loss in some.

Alan posts: 321 United Kingdom

A fun illusion. Not a new trick, but this time it features dragons. And more importantly print and play DIY instructions so you can freak out guests and maybe even pets too:

Look into their eyes...

Len posts: 1095 United Kingdom

Erm. Psychic chip failure.

You'll have to give us a link Alan.razz
(Well edited.wink)

Alan posts: 321 United Kingdom

erm, it was working after I posted it - I tested it and everything. And I've not edited it since then... eek

Computers are evil.

Len posts: 1095 United Kingdom

I wonder if by some freak I was able to see a partially posted preview?

Any how. ... C'est la vie as Laurent might say.

Game Of Thrones - The Fantasy 'gateway drug' ?

which reminded me of this article, old 'news' now:

Looters return stuff to Games Workshop

Len posts: 1095 United Kingdom

It has to be done.

I'm hooked thanks to a friend in Canada, and so I think it only fair I introduce the rest of you to another Web-comic of awesomeness.

Allow me to introduce gunnerkrigg.

Naturally, you need to start at the beginning, so the link is to comis #1. But be warned its already well into in the 900s and probably as addictive as OotS. Mwahahahaha.

Hello,

Terrible Christmas presents

Laurent,

Laurent posts: 1029 United Kingdom

Hello there,

I am not sure if this qualifies as funny or sad, sad as in Hollywood displaying even less originality by the day.

I do not mind remakes of crap movies, but remaking Total Recall is borderline sacrilegious.

Colin Farrell will never, ever be able to say: "Get youah azz to Maars" the right way! lol

No Arnie, no Michael Ironside, sorry cannot be Total Recall!
Back in them days we managed to have ultra-violent movies and lines such as "demure... and sleazy". Now it is all CGI rubbish.

Laurent,

Adam posts: 137 United Kingdom

Dunno if this counts as 'funny stuff', more cool/interesting/pointless, but probably not worth it's own thread....

''"When two or more people roll a die each in order to see who scores highest – what you do, for example, when deciding who goes first in a board game – there is always the chance of a tie.

In the event of a tie, of course, you roll again.

But then there is still the chance of a tie. And this can go on ad infinitum.

In other words, the process is not as efficient as it could be. Eric wondered if he could come up with a set of fair dice such that one roll of each die is enough to establish an absolute winner."''

Len posts: 1095 United Kingdom

It ain't exactly funny, as you pointed out, but it sure is cool. Even though I can see the flaw in the creator's logic. Hence I would always pick the black & white die to roll.

I'm sure Alan will see why. In order to be completely fair, one would have to draw lots to choose which die you rolled.

Alan posts: 321 United Kingdom

I didn't look that deeply, though I kind of liked what he was trying to do and why I stopped as soon as thought about resolving the same issue for up to 52 players with a regular deck of playing cards. Much as I love dice, inferior to purpose. Of course for determining a start player given who goes next is generally dictated by the game can also be easily remedied with a spin of a bottle too - so long as said bottle is empty of beer at the time...

Also...

Arr! it be talk like a pirate day mateys. Get yer damn jaws into it!

For anybody whose ...er... 'Mystic Wood' is a little on the short side...

Alan posts: 321 United Kingdom

I've not heard of the mystic wood extention kit, it must be quite rare. I think you must be very brave to let other people play with your mystic wood.

mrgreen

Nice finds.
