Cool. Well if Wargames Foundry are planning to open up on the evenings then that would be great. It does sound a little like they'd have to keep the whole place open just for us atm though.

It would also mean me constantly having to resist the temptation to pimp Doom with some of their swanky Special-Ops miniatures as well. iirc they did a good Buffy mini once also.

@Ding

Thanks for running RD the other night.

To clarify a bit: when I mentioned it imo went on a bit too long I meant the puzzle sequences - not the session as a whole.

For future reference I'd like to register my vote to play with new characters who can actually do things. It's cool to play as the original cast but RPing a hopeless incompetent just reminds me too much of real life... neutral

Is there any news yet on whether Ron would prefer us to shift Thursdays or not?

Ding posts: 204 United Kingdom

@Tim: Thanks for the feedback, I'll keep that in mind.

---

Ron is ok with Thursdays. From what I understand one week of the month is spent working evenings. So if we are a bit more adaptive with when we play, then we should be able to get two sessions a month. Ron normally finds out his timetable about a month in advance.

melociraptor posts: 86

That's cool, I can be adaptive. I'm assuming no gaming tonight though?

Shall we head to Lee Rosey's / the Poacher next week to see how that goes, and if it doesn't look like it'll work out explore the possible Foundry options?

Ding posts: 204 United Kingdom

We can't play Lee Rosy's on a Thursday they have their film screening then. I'm up for trying the Poacher.

Ron says he'd like to Run a darker Pathfinder homebrew with a heavier focus on RP and less hack and slash. I'll ask him to post something here.

greatzombieron posts: 28 United Kingdom

Hey dudes. I'd love to get the gang back together for a weekly game this time.

As it stands i do night shifts one week a month (Barring any oddness)So you'd get a week off to do whatevs.

I'm also super excited to resurrect my homebrew campaign. Its very dark but seriously epic and RP heavy. I'd love to to gm with you dudes (and lady)

Tim the Enchanter posts: 123

Ding, next week is Gambling Lambs at Lee Rosy's. Afaik the Poacher group runs every Thursday except Gambling Lambs nights. So I'm guessing next week we go to Gambling Lambs then in 3 weeks time we go t' Poacher? Or something.

Hey Ron - any info on just how dark 'very dark' is? On a scale of 0 to 'hopeless, bleak and depressing' how does it score?

Ding posts: 204 United Kingdom

I'm up for attending Gambling Lambs next week. Was planning on bringing the board game of my own design along for a spin. Tim did you have anything you were going to bring down?

@Ron. I'm guessing this is a pathfinder game. I'm definitely up for playing. However, if we could in the first instance keep it to a finite number of sessions. I'm personally enjoying the experimentation with new systems (Pendragon and Red Dwarf, so far) but always have room for pathfinder and a different GM for a different spin on things.

At some point in the future I would like to run Numenera

Tim the Enchanter posts: 123

Dunno. Not sure how Gambling Lambs is with bringing your own stuff in. Anyway Descent 2e I think would work best as a multi-session campaign, so not that suitable for a one-off. If anything it would have to be Doom, Merchants & Marauders or ... a boardgame of my own design... surprised

I read up on the setting for Numenera. Sounds intriguing and exotic, very Michael Moorcock with some 'Chronicles of Future Earth' sprinkled on top perhaps.

Ding posts: 204 United Kingdom

You can take your own things to Gambling Lambs, they have a stack of shared games which seem to be on temporary loan from members of the group which are available to play.

melociraptor posts: 86

@Ron: I'm really excited to play your campaign :-D I might struggle to do weekly sessions though. Two thursdays a month suits me best, but I'm totally flexible as to which two thursdays those are, even if it's different each time. What do you all think?

So it's Gambling Lambs this Thursday in Lee Rosey's to play Ding's board game from 7pm?

Ding posts: 204 United Kingdom

Yeah, I'll be heading there for around 7pm and I'll bring my board game along. Mmmmm cake and games.

Regarding Ron's game, I'm pretty flexible with the Thursdays we game as long as I've got some notice.

Tim the Enchanter posts: 123

Two thursdays a month RPGing is fine. If the thursdays themselves are going to jump around then it would be useful if we could figure out some way of organising things properly in advance.

As for tonight, I shall not be in attendance... sad I hope you all manage to have fun without me. *eyebrow-raised-in-ironic-way emoticon*

greatzombieron posts: 28 United Kingdom

I can totally do two sessions a month. I can also do an introductory thing for a while and then see how things go from there.

The way my scheduling is i can probably do two weeks on, two off. Gives me time to write stuff up to a good standard as we go. That way i'm not always procrastinating. lol.

Ding posts: 204 United Kingdom

Excellent, so when are you next free Ron?

greatzombieron posts: 28 United Kingdom

Hows Thursday 24th for everybody?

Ding posts: 204 United Kingdom

That's good with me. What should we prepare?

melociraptor posts: 86

The 24th is great for me as I can't do this week.

I'm guessing we need to make new characters? At level 1?

For everyone's info, I'm thinking of creating some kind of Dex-based fighter.

greatzombieron posts: 28 United Kingdom

Everybody starts at first level. No gear or cash (due to the way the story's gonna start)

Most of the standard classes and races are totally cool although if you want something strange or unusual i'd ask you run it by me first.

I'm gonna (hopefully) have some campaign specific traits and abilities that ya'll can use too.:D

melociraptor posts: 86

Sweet. Do you want us to roll our stats or use some kind of point buying system like this? http://www.d20pfsrd.com/basics-ability-scores/ability-scores

Ding posts: 204 United Kingdom

I've not played a cleric before, might give that a go.
