Any suggestions as to where to play?

We might be able to play at mine, although it's not the most ideal location. My personal preference would be somewhere central so it's easy for everyone to get to and from. I will get in touch with Ron to see if he is still interested in playing with the group. As he doesn't really use this site.

The Red Dwarf game will run with 3-4 players, as for how many sessions, I don't know.

Ding posts: 204 United Kingdom

Ron is still interested in playing, he also is happy to host.

Been working on the 'Episode' I think it's working out ok, looking forward to seeing how it goes.

Hi all,

What are the haps with regards our game(s)? I'm not sure if it's happening this week due to the closure of Vague but I'm afraid I'm still being rubbish and can't make it as it's my friend's birthday. Life keeps happening! Sorry folks. Hope to be back soon.

Ding posts: 204 United Kingdom

I think the plan is to move to Ron's for the immediate future, although we can keep our eyes out for somewhere more central.

As far as I'm aware we were planning to run this week. Well, I've got the things I need and I'm good to go.

Tim the Enchanter posts: 123

I am going to be rubbish as well. I was ill at t'weekend and am still not feeling as awesome as usual. Sorry, it's a quiet evening in for me.

I suppose it might have been thematically appropriate to play as Lister ("I'm like some barely human grossed-out slime ball" etc) but actually no.

Peace out, hombres.

Ding posts: 204 United Kingdom

Ah well, not much point running Red Dwarf, we'll play a board game or something.

Ding posts: 204 United Kingdom

So, are we getting together this Thursday?

melociraptor posts: 86

I'm up for playing this week.

Tim the Enchanter posts: 123

Yes - let's do this crazy gaming thing.

But - do we have a venue?

Ding posts: 204 United Kingdom

Hi there, Jules is in and if needs be is willing to give people lifts so we can all get to where we're going. No word from Ron yet.

We can potentially play at my house, however it is not an ideal space as I share it with four other people. It could work though.

Are either of your houses better suited?

Tonbo posts: 45

Hi just to confirm I have my car so on such a miserable day I can offer all lifts to destinations throughout Nottingham and all the way to Grantham if you so desired, pick up and drop off no problem; not that the offer wouldn't be available is it was a nice day biggrin

Tim the Enchanter posts: 123

Ahoy. Well my 'house' is a 2-room flat. I guess if I spent a weekend moving stuff around there might be room but atm there is not.

Going forward there is FANG (Friendly Association of Nottingham Gamers) who meet most Thursdays at the Lincolnshire Poacher 6pm onwards. Apparently they might be okay with some other RPG / Gamers barging in as well. This would mean a small (~£1 each?) room hire fee and would also mean we'd have to be a little flexible so our two calendars match up. Worth a thought though I think.

As for tonight...

I dunno, we could even risk that pub up Canning Circus. Seemed pretty quiet last time we were there.

Hey we could do a Red Dwarf LRP Pub Crawl...? cool

Or we could delay one week and I'll find out if FANG will have us..?

melociraptor posts: 86

I have a fairly large house now, which could work in the future, but at the moment Matt is taking half the walls down so there is stuff everywhere. Also, we are yet to buy a table and chairs. But we could potentially play here in the future. It's a little way out of the city, about a 20 min walk from the Lace Market.

I know someone in FANG so I can ask him about it. Happy to play in a pub, especially the Poacher because they have ALL the whisky/ey.

Tonbo posts: 45

Poacher might be a good possibility then, or the other pub up Canning Circus (wonder if they have any of that mechanoid brew Holly made up for Kryton that time?

Ding posts: 204 United Kingdom

I'm happy to try a pub on canning circus for this week. Or another pub/place in town.

Jules, Ron and I went to a boardgaming group at lee rosy's the other Thursday, they play downstairs, it's pretty quite in the evening. Open till 10pm. Plus there's cake! That's a possible venue.

(the boardgaming group is called the gambling lambs on fb, we had a good time, 15+ people plenty of variety)

I'm already to run Red Dwarf.

So... votes for tonight.

My house (Sneinton)
The John Borlase Warren (on canning circus)
Lee Rosy's (lace market)

Damn, lee rosy's is off as they have a film every Thursday but the gaming group evening.

melociraptor posts: 86

Lee Rosey's would also be awesome some other time because of ALL the tea. And cake. And I know someone (the same person) from Gambling Lambs so I can have a word.

Up for John Borlase Warren or whatever it's called tonight though, sounds good. Is Jules still driving?

Tonbo posts: 45

Yup still driving. cake and tea would be excellent as I won't be able to drink so a pub although nice is slightly like torture cry. I'll leave it to everyone else to decide venue.

Ding posts: 204 United Kingdom

Lets go with Sir John tonight, meet there at 7pm. We should hopefully be able to find a corner.

Tonight we can discuss an on going future venue. Somewhere central is generally ideal for everyone I'd imagine.

Tonbo posts: 45

see everyone therebiggrin apart from ron who is working I think.

I just got this message from Foundry Arena after I made an enquiry. Could be an option? Seem like friendly folk. https://m.facebook.com/FoundryArena

Hi Melissa,

The gaming area is open whenever the factory is, which is usually Monday to Saturday during the day. It may be possible to open it on an evening for a regular club meeting. There's no charge to game in the factory and your group is welcome to come down whenever they want. There's usually plenty of space. Let me know if you need any more info.
