What do you mean by small window? Fauda is fun but way to complex for the amount of roleplay we are doing. I need something more suited to the hack/slash we are doing. I assume as there is a window you have no objections to a new character? What do I need to do to get one started? I can roll one up and bring it tonight if you like? Just need to know what kind of xp and cash/items I can start with? 99% likely to be fighter, haven't decided on human or dwarf yet.

Adam posts: 137 United Kingdom

I won't be able to make it this week - apologies for the short notice..... Feel free to bench him, but if you want to use him....

There should be a sheet in the character folder with lists of spells etc. From memory he's not cast much. As well as spells, Tariq can also do a dim-door style move and fly (from the Travel domain) and give a weapon the axiomatic property (extra 2d6 damage versus chaos) for a few rounds. Pretty sure I can't give this to chaotic types...

In terms of healing, Tariq tends to use channels where they're efficient (he has selective channelling) and a CLW wand out of combat. Can sacrifice spells for an equivalent healing spell, but I usually try to avoid doing this if I can.

Laurent posts: 1029 United Kingdom

Adam,

If given the chance, I could play Tariq.

In two weeks time, I promise that your PC will feel "dirty"! mrgreen

Fellow gamers,

I am sorry to announce that I will not be able to make it for the game tonight.
Nothing tragic this time, just bad organisation on my part for my trip tomorrow.

Laurent,

ian_t posts: 149 United Kingdom

right with the venue next week being moved to my house due to the shop being closed, what time do people want to start and finish at?

Adam posts: 137 United Kingdom

Well, I could make a slightly earlier start if I go straight from work, but I could do with an earlier finish to get back to catch the usual bus home.

Ding posts: 204 United Kingdom

Is anyone walking from the city centre tomorrow to get to Ian's?

If you'd like to walk together or split a taxi just let me know.

Adam posts: 137 United Kingdom

Sounds good. Where would be a good place to meet? I'll be coming in by bus from work, so could meet anywhere in town or on the way. Think it looks comfortably walkable (unless it's bucketing down...)

Ding posts: 204 United Kingdom

Market Square by the left lion? What time do you finish work? (will PM my phone number incase anything goes wrong)

ian_t posts: 149 United Kingdom

guys if you are coming from the market square and have bus tickets for the day you can get the 48 and get off at either the soudan drive or queens walk stop. when you get off if either of you want to give me a call i will meet you.

Fellow gamers,

I shall be at the game tonight, I have even click on the event, yeah! smile

I was too tired on Monday to attend the board-game session.

Laurent,

Laurent posts: 1029 United Kingdom

Fellow gamers,

I cannot find the list of monsters/animals by size I once found... somewhere on the web.

A couple of useful links though:
A spreadsheet of Animals by size for use with wild shape
Something from the Paizo boards about availability of special animal abilities when using wild shape.

Laurent posts: 1029 United Kingdom

Fellow players,

Well, my character, Makoa, wanted a fight and he got it!

I did not expect that big hole, as I thought the Genie was merely burrowing, so my bet was to jump in the fresh hole and risked being buried alive from the collapse. I would have then expected my trustworthy companions to use shovels and other magically summoned instrument to dig me up.
Of course, jumping in the hole meant dropping a hundred feet in a chimney like entrance to a secret complex.

I still believe that the Gargoyles should have been ignored from the very beginning. Had we been LV3 characters facing a CR5 mini-boss, we would have ignored Skeletons and Goblins. Oh well, this was meta-gaming anyway. frown

It is nonetheless cool to play a PC with so much HP. Makoa can last at least three rounds on his own against a serious threat. Then of course, he needs to selfishly deplete all the healing reserves of the party.

Laurent,

Adam posts: 137 United Kingdom

I thought it was a really interesting encounter from a tactical point of view, and I don't think we could have just ignored the gargoyles.

We had very limited space (fighting on a bridge area) and a lot of enemies, which caused problems for our spellcasters in terms of having to cast defensively or provoking attacks of opportunity. Normally I'd cast fly to avoid them, but that won't help against Gargoyles. Short of fleeing, there was no way of getting clear of threatened territory. The more of us ignore them, the more they gang up on those who remain, and if that's our squishy targets, they don't last that long. The bad guys have a lot of attacks (admittedly for fairly low damage) and they were rolling very well. Probably the one thing I'd do differently if I were fighting that encounter again is to cast Shield of Faith on Tariq, which would have meant the Gargoyles would need 20 to hit him (if he could get the spell off, of course). But the GGs were among us before we had time to prepare.

I think what we lacked was the ability to thin the numbers of the GG while concentrating mainly on the stone elemental thing. If we could have killed a few of them faster, that would have made manoeuvring for space much easier.

Ding posts: 204 United Kingdom

I really enjoyed how the encounter played out. There were a few nail biting moments but we managed to get out alive, so can't worry too much.

fauda posts: 14 United Kingdom

Dang it, missed the action. Sorry guys. Fauda and Shari will return this week for some more adventures though.

ian_t posts: 149 United Kingdom

next weeks game set up on the calander, and the game is set up to 12/12/12 and extra game set up on 5/12/12 due to laurent leaving a jacket on a chair and a ballon with a wig on at his desk and disappearing for the month instead of going to work. mrgreen

Adam posts: 137 United Kingdom

Just to check... is it 7:30 at the shop tomorrow, or have we changed time/location again?

Laurent posts: 1029 United Kingdom

Adam,

Wait for Ian's answer to be certain, but it indeed should be 7.30 p.m.

Laurent,
