April 2011 Big Meet

Laurent posts: 1029 United Kingdom

Dear Members,

This is the discussion thread for our April 2011 Big Meet.

Obviously, you need to have a look at:

The April 2011 Social

The Afternoon Session

The Evening Session

You are:

A player.

  • Discuss the games on offer, what you need to prepare, anything really.
  • Ask kindly if someone else could run a game for you. Demand could create offer after all.

A GM

  • Describe the game you want to play here in addition to what is to be found on your game page.
  • Ask for advice on how to format your game page.
  • Ask the Organising Team member in charge of the event to put your game on the sign up page and linkify everything that needs be linkified, such as a particular game thread in the forum or your game page for instance. Members of the Organising Team should be able to modify the calendar event and tracker pages to include their own games, but I can do it for them too if need be.

A new member or a simple observer.

We do not bite, so post away.

And for all of the above, you can discuss transport issues here too.

This is the original post, people are invited to propose games as soon as possible to allow players some choice and time to make up their minds.

Hint.

"No game, thus no play makes us pretty dull boys" (and girls), so do not be shy and run something!

Sticky.

This thread will remain as a "sticky" until the April Big Meet has passed, then it will become a normal thread again. After that, you will still be able to comment on the event, but entropy should ensure the thread's slow death and let the newer thread for the current Big Meet take centre stage.

Laurent,

Thanks very much for that John, and well done that man. We did kind of brow-beat the man and booked a goodly period in advance last time. It should be well and truly booked now.

Len

Yes, by the time we'd finished with him he looked suitably brow beaten, then again he could just have been role playing the typical inn keeper...

Unfortunately due to my missus ignoring the "I'm out on the 9th" I put on the calender I now have family coming around tomorrow so not going to make the big meet. Will hopefully be around for the may meet, missus permitting.

Sorry guys

Len posts: 1095 United Kingdom

Wow. Too many folks to play one game again.
Thanks Becky, for running a Cthulhu game at such short notice, and allowing the rest of us to die horribly, or go blubberingly insane.

A good time was had be all. Including the old Colonel, who never told us his first name. I strongly suspect he was actually Colonel Steve. wink But we may never know. At least he appeared to go at the hands of a naked female human who wrestled him to the ground and ... more sanity lost just remembering it? eek

Nice to see more old faces returning as well as new ones.

Len

Good to hear things are picking up speed once again, and great to hear of a budding gm proffing up some lovely cthulhu fun.

In other news this thread is no longer 'sticky' continue discussions by all means but keep one eye to the future and next months event.

A great turn out.

Good to see everyone and thanks to the DnD players for putting up with my somewhat rusty and ill prepared DMing!

Dear all,

As Len has pointed out, enough people for two games and I did not even have to run mine! smile

Keep on the Borderlands.

Thanks to Bruce for running the game. I had got up relatively early to do some shopping, thus a lot of walking around in the city centre, on Saturday and the digestive phase after the food made me very sleepy.
Radovan the Cleric lived fast and died young. Not for him the hit with the mace doing a point of damage. No Sir, he had to smash that Kobold Emperor of Blood (*) with a critical kill!mad When it came to be hit, well, Radovan got critically done for. neutral

Last Big Meet until June.

Hopefully I shall be allowed by my lady to attend a monthly event after the binding ritual is done. Anyway, I could run The Hydra's Fang Incident in two Big Meets from now.

Laurent,

(*) Despite the GM referring to him only as the captain

Thanks to Bruce for dusting off the red books. It shows that whilst a good ruleset can help facilitate the action, its really the role playing that is the fun bit and I for one had a blast!

Poor Radovan frown Some valient attempts at resusitation were made but he was clearly kebab of indeterminant origin after that 20 critical spear in the back.

Oh, and good luck with being allowed out after your nuptules, Laurent. Isnt that when they shed their illusory form and shapeshift into the dreaded gatekeeper of doom? twisted

Laurent arrêté, la fin d’une résistance

When I saw the headline I was amazed, then I found out it was just an African Despot.cry Not our fiendish Frenchman.
