With hindsight it had become half-expected the post would not be as funny as intended, what with people getting genuinely freaked out about losing their beloved sheet of paper.
Ian was not alone on this, we all worked out the silly story together.
If there is only one person to be responsible, this would be Adam, he was the one who forced us to come up with a story!
Note that the fact that Adam is away for three weeks, thus cannot defend himself against these accusations is merely a pure coincidence.
