Carlton's swords are a matched pair of blades that really belong to the Librarians, but were re-worked for him by Tinker Kaufmann, the Golan Guardian. Cost was never an issue. The added bonuses are absolutely non-magical, but the swords now have a masterwork bonus and are keen. The magic CAN NOT be used in conjunction with the bonuses conferred by Tinker. It is an either/or situation because Tinker is very much non-magical.
His armour is much like that worn by Tamuril. It is essentially chain + scale mail made of mithril. Mithril chain with leaf shaped scales of mithril Anodised to a gold colour, just like the semi-legendary Gold Shirts, who are in fact the Golan Guardian's Dwarven assistants.
Luthien & Tamuril's version has a ceramic coating instead of the anodising, that gives a non-reflective but patchy green/brown colouration. It gives a hide bonus in woodland as well as its armour bonus.
Tinker was worried that the coating may begin to wear after as little as 30 - 50 years; 20 years if constantly used in battle. But the players decided that even 20 years was fine. The Golden colour does not wear.

There is a single potential drawback to Carlton's armour, and even that is theoretically a bonus. Unless he takes actions to indicate the contrary, strangers will assume him to be the party leader.
Anyone dressed in Gold Sequins is going to stand out.
