Beholder

Len posts: 1095 United Kingdom

Its been a very long time, but last night the survivors among the PCs finally did the business.

From Waterdeep to Candlekeep, from Candlekeep to Athkatla, then back to Waterdeep. From Waterdeep to the Underdark, then a whole different plane, then another excursion to Waterdeep, and into the city of the dead.

Finally to the mountain above Waterdeep and releasing poor Simon from the claws of his doctor. The final "Big Bad" scene saw the PCs in the same room as the Lich we have been hunting since Athkatla, with his pet Beholder.

Now luckily, by the time he summoned the beholder, we had the Lich almost re-dead. But Aedan Galetai the 18 year old human druid can say as he sits in the Green Dragon Inn in waterdeep, with Jewel, his crush, and the cat on his lap, drinking a well earned pint, that he was once in the same room as a Lich and a Beholder, and he was the one who walked out of the room alive. It felt good to get covered in Beholder innards. Chopped liver, watermelon and rotten tomatos do not make a nice sounding shower, but when it is a choice between that or explaining to Sylvanus in person why you came calling, the mess is preferable.

Aedan will perhaps one day meet Sylvanus, but he hopes to have served him well for a few more years before that happens, and to have made a few more bad guys meet their Gods before Aedan meets his.

The end of a long running and Much Loved campaign. Many, many thanks to Leah, for running such a wonderful game for us all for so long.

It will feel strange to retire Aedan and to not go to Beholder every fortnight. But hopefully that will not be the last time I play with the people who I have come to know as my friends.

Hahaha. Had to be done, sorry!

And we all love Leah! Well done missy, great fun was had by all I reckon!

Apparently it's been three years (for Aedan and Elessar at least), it's about time the little fella went back to visit the other druids (...what?). They'll want to know how their adoptive dwarf has been getting on I'm sure...

And I understand Lenny-boy is on course to launch us all into Armagada? I've been readin' up on it, but you'll have to let the new lot know which characters you want us to pick up.

Lots of love 'n' thanks to Leah again, ya campaign and the dwarf (despite the regular complaining ;-) hahaha.) will be sorely missed!

Awwww, well I'm glad you enjoyed guys, really, really I am. I had no idea it would turn out to be anything as epic has it has been, nor that it would see so many players and characters come and go.

But I had an absolute ball doing it and, well do another, soon. Oh yes, soon! Though after a break of course.

Thank you everyone; very well done!

I know I picked up midway through, but I took to Lithgan quickly and would really like Temujin in the right party. I thank you for taking a gamble on me and letting me join in! It was really rather spiffing! (not used that word in a while!)

Will we be able to play Erian, Aedan, Elessar & N'ergal again, or are we doing the 1st level thing, and have you read the emails yet regarding Aramars or the tiefling sorcerer?

Ileandra Young posts: 116 United Kingdom

Well its really tricky. I've grown to really love those characters and I would like to see them again, but I'm craving something slightly different now. 3.5 DnD obviously, is grand, but it won't sit well for a 'modern day' campaign and even though I talked about the 1st level idea, my mind keeps drifting.

So, at the moment, I'm keeping my head open about all three possibilities with a view to perhaps test running something at a Big Meet at one point or another. We'll see how we go.

Erm and emails...? Where's the emoticon for rushed-off-your-feet-and-only-stopping-online-once-a-day-for-about-fifteen-minutes-a-time?
Meh, never mind. The short answer is no, but I'll make an especially effort to read them today; I want to know what you've come up with. :-D
