Xorvintaal: Moving The World 100years

The world keeps turning and the great game continues...

The players have just killed the new dragon who tried to enter the game. After the claw test Arynquitubahr has now got two areas of land. While she still has the town of Skyborn and its surrounding area the players have 'won' her the land surrounding Mord.

The players know that the land used to belong to Musqordis who was an old Bronze Dragon. He was Lawful Good and had laid dormant for many years prior to his fall. His exarchs were unknown but it was suspected that they were humanoid.

After an incredibly long and terrifying time in Arynquitubahr's lair where the party had to explain why they were in Musquordis' land in the first place and why they had though she wanted to make herself a target for attack by having such a large piece of land so far from her stronghold she leaves the party with the words:

"How I am supposed to secure both Skyborn and Mord? I need to send another group to investigate the goings on in Riverbyn with Ilvinoristabis and her so called paladins. Sort it!"

What do the players want to do with Skyborn and/or Mord?

Do we need 2 lands or 1? Can we deal/ Run/Plan for that?

IF we can how are we gonna make it work and if now what do we do with the new place, Can we Sell it? (effectively)

I'm not sure I understand what has gone on with all the interaction between dragons or how things relate to the future game. A territory divided as it currently is will be difficult to maintain in the long term. I doubt it would be wise to relinquish the original territory.

Looking at it logically. (Which admittedly might not be the logic of a dragon.) I suggest some options.

  1. An Exchange of territory in order to make it more manageable for all three dragons concerned.
    • Jadorgrax to get half the new land down to and including Mord.
    • Ilvinoristabis to get the lower portion of Musqordis's land South of Mord.
    • Arynquitubahr to get land from both the above equal to half their new land.
This way all three dragons end up with more territory.

  2. Arynquitubahr makes a deal with Ilvinoristabis, who takes the new land south of Mord and gives Arynquitubahr some of her own down to North of Riverbyn, to form a stable corridor to Mord, which remain in Arynquitubahr's hands.
This gives Arynquitubahr's "subjects" a coastal presence for trade and a mountain region for rescources.

  3. Arynquitubahr makes a deal with Jadorgrax and gives him the whole of the new territory in exchange for some more land up to a line west of Riverbyn and Harborough.

This sounds about Right though our total land as it stands now will go down the amount of useful and protectable land will go up so there will be a gross loss with a net game so it well worth it.

I have been informed hat we have to do it. so do we want to deal with 1 dragon or both, and if 1 which one.

Jad does not like us so if we were to approach him it would have to be though Jax if she was willing.

Ilvanora would be better to deal with and the whole paladin thing means she should stick to any agreement reached. so just need to ask them really and see what they think?

Len posts: 1095 United Kingdom

I would prefer to use option 1, followed by 2 then 3 in the order I wrote them. (Strange how that worked out.)

No worries Len. :-)

Though, I am vaguely confused as to what exactly be going on. If the game be advancing by 100 years, then is this thread for the 100 year on game, or is it a discussion about what to do in the original Xorvin game?

Cause the title and the topics seem to be at odds. :P

Just thought I would ask before I decide if I should throw in me tuppence. :-)

Basically I wanted to give the old players an input on how the world changed between now and when the new game picks up. Rather than just form a narrative to get them up to speed I wanted them to get some input. so this thread allows old players to answer the questions what would you do at this point, and get get to say yay or nay about whether that was able to happen. I have written a timeline of events which will crop up as the players decide various things...

When this thread reaches the 100years that is what the world will look like (politically) for the start of the new game...

So we need Jax to go and talk to Mas and we should go and talk. to Ilvanora. We will come up with a new territory plan that looks even with us loosing 2 archers for every 1 we gain. As grolsh says including mord id Man's new land. But avoiding the transfer of any other large settlements

Len posts: 1095 United Kingdom

So we are going for option 1, with Jax/Aryn negotiating with Jag & us exarchs negotiating with Ilvin-whats-her-name (I seem to remember that was Jax's name for her, and probably why Jax did better with Jag

Grolsch, as a dragonborn looking fairly metallic will happily try his diplomacy skills out on the paladins.
