Heartland Folk lore:
Many had believed them to be elves, some say human but no remains have been found of the Heartland folk they remain shrouded in mystery such as they have been even since the imperials occupied Ealdeny.

Legends have naturally been passed throughout history by the families of the Heartland dwellers, tales of powerful mages and rangers that posses super speed are common Heartland folk tales the most famous being the tale of "Ardevaan the fleet footed" the tale contains a vivid yarn of a Heartland wanderer who had mastered walking on water and used the ability to save his love from an evil wizard. Though many legends may distort history and the truth some remain true in their entirety the stories of the Heartland magicks and their ability to be one with their environment are very true.

Magic in a sense has always been around us it flows through the air, water and the creatures of this land, it is a natural composite that the Heartland folk grew into over time, their bodies became adept at magicks and they studied the science behind it religiously and when they had mastered the arts they then taught select humans from outside the heartlands, they infused magic into everything they did; their buildings, their crops the world around them was enchanted with this power.

Some people theorise that the very few adepts of magic we see today are descendants of them lucky people who were taught the way of the world from the heartlanders.

Though the Heartland Folk were masters of natural magicks that did not mean there were not dark magicks too, a handful of the Heartlanders saw the raw power of this untapped energy and desired more and more of it up to the point where they were sent insane by the very power they desired. Very little is known about the black arts of the Heartland Folk though many occultists still study it closely to this day the more answers they uncover the more questions it beholds.
