The August 2013 Big Meet

Alan posts: 321 United Kingdom

Dear Members,

This is the discussion thread for our July 2013 Big Meet.

Obviously, you need to have a look at:

The Social

The Afternoon Session

The Evening Session

You are:

A player.

  • Discuss the games on offer, what you need to prepare, anything really.
  • Ask kindly if someone else could run a game for you. Demand could create offer after all.

A GM

  • Describe the game you want to play here in addition to what is to be found on your game page.
  • Ask for advice on how to format your game page.
  • Ask the Organising Team member in charge of the event to put your game on the sign up page and linkify everything that needs be linkified, such as a particular game thread in the forum or your game page for instance. Members of the Organising Team should be able to modify the calendar event and tracker pages to include their own games, but I can do it for them too if need be.

A new member or a simple observer.

We do not bite, so post away.

And for all of the above, you can discuss transport issues here too.

This is the original post, people are invited to propose games as soon as possible to allow players some choice and time to make up their minds.

F.A.Q.?

There is a page of general information about The Big Meet yes.

Hint.

"No game, thus no play makes us pretty dull boys" (and girls), so do not be shy and run something!

Sticky.

This thread will remain as a "sticky" until the this Big Meet has passed, then it will become a normal thread again. After that, you will still be able to comment on the event, but entropy should ensure the thread's slow death and let the newer thread for the current Big Meet take centre stage.

I'll be there as always.

I'll bring something prepared in case. The usual proviso that my body is in working order on the day.

Well I'll be there in spirit (so don't drink me!). I hope you all have fun without me. Don't be too upset that I'm not there. Although, has anyone noticed that the calendar thinks this Big Meet is going down Friday not Saturday? That ain't right!

Alan posts: 321 United Kingdom

Nice catch, ammended event to Saturday. Lucee and I ought to be there with board games on offer and I reckon I'll have at least exodus on offer. Might be a little later than normal though. Given the newly underwhelming menu I might feed elsewhere.

skerrigan posts: 142 United Kingdom

I might (note: might, Alan, I know how disappointed you get if I don't show) be up on Saturday and will bring some WFRP goodness to play.

PS - Alan, I can bring up those Chronoscope minis if you still want them.

Alan posts: 321 United Kingdom

It'd certainly be good to see you if you can make it mate but I'll bottle my disappointment and keep it with the others if you crush my dreams once more wink

And yes I'm for sure still interested in having a look at any of those bones minis you aren't fussed about.

Len posts: 1095 United Kingdom

My body is definitely trying to tell me something. I am having a bit of a flare right now, so I'm going to do the sensible thing rather than the thing I want to do.

It irks me to miss the Big Meet, but I'm going to this month. I could drive up and take a hefty dose of painkillers when I get there. I could gamble on the pain not returning in the evening, so I could drive back, But the more intelligent thing to do is not to risk it.

I'm sure you are all capable of having fun without me, but if you can manage it, have a little fun for me too.

Len

i'll be there too. got a nice mage game planned and ready with pregens if anyony wants to give it a go :-)

Charlie posts: 202 United Kingdom

Well I hope everyone had plenty of fun. Sorry to hear Len couldn't make it either. Hope ya feeling better now me old mucker! I wanna know zigzagtly what went down. I figured the best way to get over not being there with y'all was to get a little drunk.

I'm definately up for joining the Mage game next time if its going down. And i only hope that I was at least allowed to go see Obox Ob if the Demonwebs got finished with!

skerrigan posts: 142 United Kingdom

It was fun - though we mostly chatted with the occasional break to shoot some zombies. However it seems the Brunswick are now wanting to charge the club for the use of their little boardroom so a venue change might be called for. I'll let Alan explain better....
