The April 2013 Big Meet

Laurent posts: 1029 United Kingdom

Dear Members,

This is the discussion thread for our April 2013 Big Meet.

Obviously, you need to have a look at:

The April 2013 Social

The Afternoon Session

The Evening Session

You are:

A player.

  • Discuss the games on offer, what you need to prepare, anything really.
  • Ask kindly if someone else could run a game for you. Demand could create offer after all.

A GM

  • Describe the game you want to play here in addition to what is to be found on your game page.
  • Ask for advice on how to format your game page.
  • Ask the Organising Team member in charge of the event to put your game on the sign up page and linkify everything that needs be linkified, such as a particular game thread in the forum or your game page for instance. Members of the Organising Team should be able to modify the calendar event and tracker pages to include their own games, but I can do it for them too if need be.

A new member or a simple observer.

We do not bite, so post away.

And for all of the above, you can discuss transport issues here too.

This is the original post, people are invited to propose games as soon as possible to allow players some choice and time to make up their minds.

F.A.Q.?

There is a page of general information about The Big Meet yes.

Hint.

"No game, thus no play makes us pretty dull boys" (and girls), so do not be shy and run something!

Sticky.

This thread will remain as a "sticky" until the April Big Meet has passed, then it will become a normal thread again. After that, you will still be able to comment on the event, but entropy should ensure the thread's slow death and let the newer thread for the current Big Meet take centre stage.

Thanks Laurent.
As always, you are a star. (I made a slight edit to get the month right at the end.)

But more on topic, I shall be there.

As always, I shall carry with me something I can run if needed. I know I was LARPing last time, but I had such a wonderful time as Bjorn, the dwarven blacksmith that I barely missed playing something else. I did think of you at lunch time on Saturday while I sat round a camp fire, talking with rangers, fighters and clerics. I shall have one more LARP during Easter, then I shall be back to getting my kicks with my good friends at the Big Meet in The Brunswick.

It will have been two months since my last Chilli Chips & Cheese so I'll be gagging for some of the Brunswick's finest. Swilled down with a pint of Father Mike's.

I'll be there and can offer Round 2 of WFRP: Revolutions in Progress.

Alan posts: 321 United Kingdom

I'll be there with all the usual bells and whistles. Which is none. But I will likely have board games and rpg stuff to offer. Looking forward to it!

I'll be there with Condemned D&D in tow :-)

Sorry guys, we're waiting on a fridge delivery so can't make it today. :-(

More success! Another busy month, which is fantastic, and much ass kicked in Demonwebs! With sufficient motivation I think one more session should just about crack it! :-D

I was going to repost this for May, buuuuut I don't have the power to edit and thus copy Lau's thread, so it'll have to be someone further up the food chain then I. ;)

Len posts: 1095 United Kingdom

If you are volunteering to take over Laurent's excellent work, I have the power to pull you up the food chain.

Hey all,

good to meet everyone (and have some excellent real ale). Fully enjoyed the D&D game running around a prison, crafting a flute for my bard out of an old discarded Spider leg.

Definitely going to try and make next months event.

On a side note, does anyone know of any D&D games in Nottingham (preferably Pathfinder) that need an extra player?

Cheers,

Karde

Hi Karde

I think the best way of getting a place in an existing group is to know people in that group. Which - yes - is a bit of a catch-22 situation. One way round that is to head to some one-off RPG and boardgame nights and start 'networking'.

I believe Vague Connections on Derby Rd used to run some sort of one-off Pathfinder adventures now and then. Not sure if they still do but could be worth checking out.

Apart from that it's down to either waiting for something to crop up on the boards or starting your own thread.

Also there is this thread?

Sorry, that is probably not the answer you wanted to hear.

Tim
