Hi everyone... my first post here so here goes.

I live in Derbyshire and have been out of the roleplaying scene for about 6 years.

I'm looking to get back into it again but all my old gaming group have gone their separate ways and so I'm looking for a new group.

Previous experience....

AD&D 2nd Ed.
D&D 3rd Ed.
Mage: The Ascension
Vampire: The Masquerade
Werewolf: The apocolypse (Briefly)
Demon: The Fallen (Briefly)
Shatterzone (rules/mechanics only - we had our own setting)

Of the list above I've also GM'd games in ....

AD&D 2nd Ed.
D&D 3rd Ed.
Mage: The Ascension

My all time favourite game is Mage.

Basically I'm just looking for a regular gaming group to join running WoD or D&D. Prefer actual role playing to dungeon crawls / hack & slash.

Ideally something once a month at a weekend (so as not to annoy the wife too much) ... can host and would love to GM a game again. Have had a few ideas for a while now with no outlet ;)

Hiya!

There's two of us who might be interested in joining a game, but we're pretty green on the whole. We've got a bit of 4e d&d experience and have played pathfinder, but that's it really.

We're also in Nottingham, which is a bit far out, but if there's somewhere we could meet that's easily reached by public transport we'd be able to make a monthly game I'd have thought.

Neither of us would be up to DMing anything for a while but Once I've learned the rules of whatever we decide to play I don't mind DMing a few campaigns either if you'd like a turn being a PC :-)

That sounds great.

I'm happy to run a game for newcomers or vets alike. I might be a little rusty in the GM department so it'd have to be one I know well like Mage or D&D3E.

We'd have to see if we can find somewhere suitable of course. How do you want to arrange it? PM me details of your location if you like... I can look for a suitable venue. Depending where you are in relation to me I may even be able to host it at my house.

Depending on timings and locations, I'd be interested as well, if you don't mind an old hand. ;)

I'm Josh, and I think I'm currently the member who's been part of the group the longest. *chuckles* But yes, I've played and run a whole variety of things, but I tend to get stuck DMing a lot, so getting to play would be cool.

Where abouts in Derbyshire are you based, Hades? :-)

You can call me Lee.

I live in small village that most people have never heard of between Heanor and Belper.

I'd be looking to run it as a regular thing once a month at a weekend.

It'd be pretty cool to have a veteran on board, Josh!

Once a month sounds quite good, and weekends are great, too. As for location: we live in the centre of Nottingham but don't drive. trains and buses are pretty frequent to Derby so anywhere near Derby city centre shouldn't be too much of an issue. Getting from derby to another village might be a bit of a poop though, especially getting back to Nottingham if we finish in the evening. How far away is your village from The City Centre?

We're David and Wing by the way. :-)

There's a bus direct from Derby bus station that stops about 1 minutes walk from my house.

It used to be called the "125" when it was Trent... think it's called the "Amber line" now. Last bus back to Derby on Amber Line is 5:55pm according to their website on Saturdays... bit crappy that.

If you're good for a 20 min walk there's another bus called the H1 that runs every 15 mins and the last bus there returns to derby at 2.09am sunday morning

https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/services/H1/maps-and-times

I'd be happy to lift you up to the bus stop for that one if needed.

If you're bussing it then it'd have to be on a Saturday as the buses are crap on Sundays.

Since it's only once a month I'd be looking to make it a good 3+ hours of gaming... preferably more if everyone's availability is good... so we can certainly make it worth the trip :-)

I've been in touch with a couple of my old gaming crew that still live in Derby to see if they'd be interested (cos they could then host it and they live in the centre) but alas they are all too busy with work and babies :-(

Not sure of any other suitable venues on a weekend.. most pubs would be too loud on a weekend.

@Josh ... where abouts would you be travelling from?

I live in a flat in the middle of Derby. If ya'll don't mind comin' -here- I'm perfectly happy to host. Big ole table and comfy chairs. :-)

Perfectly happy to catch the H1 on Saturdays though, if that works better. :-)

hades200082 posts: 32 United Kingdom

That would be fine by me. What's parking like at your flat?

I've PM'd both of you with my contact details.

I'm planning to go along to the brunswick on the 10th.. it'd be good to meet up there face to face and finalise plans :-)

On the weekends, Josh has his own dedicated car park. The only problem is the people going to the church seem to think it's theirs. I can heartily recommend the Wok One takaway menu. - Yes, I play with Josh too. He's been a good friend, and gamer over the years.

Ok.. sounds good. If it's ok with the others then Josh's sounds like the best place to run it.

I'll be at the social on Saturday 10th ... gonna be there from about 2pm ... might pop home at some point but will be back there again for about 7pm ish.

Looking forward to meeting everyone :-)
