The June 2012 Big Meet

Laurent posts: 1029 United Kingdom

Dear Members,

This is the discussion thread for our June 2012 Big Meet.

Obviously, you need to have a look at:

The June 2012 Social

The Afternoon Session

The Evening Session

You are:

A player.

  • Discuss the games on offer, what you need to prepare, anything really.
  • Ask kindly if someone else could run a game for you. Demand could create offer after all.

A GM

  • Describe the game you want to play here in addition to what is to be found on your game page.
  • Ask for advice on how to format your game page.
  • Ask the Organising Team member in charge of the event to put your game on the sign up page and linkify everything that needs be linkified, such as a particular game thread in the forum or your game page for instance. Members of the Organising Team should be able to modify the calendar event and tracker pages to include their own games, but I can do it for them too if need be.

A new member or a simple observer.

We do not bite, so post away.

And for all of the above, you can discuss transport issues here too.

This is the original post, people are invited to propose games as soon as possible to allow players some choice and time to make up their minds.

F.A.Q.?

There is a page of general information about The Big Meet yes.

Hint.

"No game, thus no play makes us pretty dull boys" (and girls), so do not be shy and run something!

Sticky.

This thread will remain as a "sticky" until the June Big Meet has passed, then it will become a normal thread again. After that, you will still be able to comment on the event, but entropy should ensure the thread's slow death and let the newer thread for the current Big Meet take centre stage.

Once again, 3.5 DnD, 9th level, Demonweb Pits! Onwards, to Thaas!

Charlie posts: 202 United Kingdom

Woohoo, looking forward to it already. I've even highlighted the correct Saturday on my calendar! biggrin
And I'll consider this a reminder for me to bring a blank character sheet!

Hopefully we can get our teleport on through the Beastlands!

Hmm, just Demonweb this month, or are there other games on offer too?

M.

Alan posts: 321 United Kingdom

there are other games on offer, there are always other games on offer. biggrin

Laurent posts: 1029 United Kingdom

Fellow Big Meet attendees,

Well, this thread is on fire!
I have updated the Afternoon Session page with the games that are expected to be on offer.

If there are "Wiki Pages" for WFRPG, board-games or Demonweb, let me know.

Laurent,

Well, in that case I will almost certainly be there :-)

There may be a spandex outbreak in the form of Icons - but don't let that put you off. And I should have more Exodus styled zombie apocalypse goodness too. And boardgames of course...

All of which are as friendly to newcomers as newcomers are to me, and I don't think I'm too hard to get along with.

skerrigan posts: 142 United Kingdom

@Charlie I gave Josh ~10 sheets, so he should have some D&D sheets.

Me & the missus should be there. I shall practice my Ravenloft/Transylvanian accent for Sir Launcel von Dayneworth.

Von, too, thwee. Ah ah aah.

Charlie posts: 202 United Kingdom

... Hmmm, I heard Alan eats newcomers for breakfast! ... Or is that Cheerios? confused
Zombieness is always to be appreciated though.

I won't feel too useless then if I forget to bring a character sheet myself if Skeggers has supplied a bundle! Well done that man! But is he wearing full plate or a full eveningwear suit?
I vaaant to smiiite your evillll.

Alan posts: 321 United Kingdom

A gm friend of mine might well be coming along to this big meet and possibly more to follow too. Icons pre-gens have been mostly created, just some details and powers hand outs to finish up with. Having done invisible robot ninja monkies before I'm going to need a new story for this session...

Len posts: 1095 United Kingdom

I'll be there, ready to play or run as required.
(The Gods be willing)

Hello,

Having had an extended Jubilee weekend involving travel and other visitors to entertain at home, my wife and I need to relax a bit, therefore I shall not be present at the June Big Meet, sorry. sad

All the best for the event.

Laurent,

Len posts: 1095 United Kingdom

Chillax a While Laurent we will keep the Brunswick open a Bit Longer for you.

I'm sure someone will manage a bowl of chilli ch.ch. in your honour.

Well as it turns out I am going to attempt to come along tomorrow. (After admittedly too long an absence)

Charlie posts: 202 United Kingdom

Ooow, would you look at that; tomorrow is tomorrow already. biggrin
And it sounds to me like a fairly large gathering is... erm, gathering (Despite the main man {I may have referred to more than one man as being the 'main' before now (Also; how many brackets {within brackets} is reasonably acceptable?) so implied importance may be somewhat diminished confused} having other plans - of a strikingly British nature if the Jubilee is the context... hmmm, that is suspiciously foreign for a man without a 'proper' British passport.wink).

Looking forward to seeing lots of folks, and if a tear is shed over the missing Laurent I'll be sure to blame it on a particularly potent 'ch' in a ch.ch.ch., although which 'ch' is yet to be determined (I'm very proud to have resisted the urge to use the word chtermined there...).

skerrigan posts: 142 United Kingdom

I'll be there and I shall bring my Advanced Heroquest if anyone fancies a delve.

Alan posts: 321 United Kingdom

Woot! its here. Icons - albeit cheating and using the adventure out of the book etc will be up for grabs as will exodus: S2. So thats comicy supers funs and super zombie apocalypse. And board games.

And of course, I might do none of the above and play a session. Options are good.

skerrigan posts: 142 United Kingdom

Today fun despite the world falling to the Goat with a Thousand Young. I enjoyedbunintentionally saving the party from Simon's magic mace mischief plot.cool

Alan posts: 321 United Kingdom

It was indeed a a whole heap of fun. Though I am starting to get a bit annoyed at these great old ones devouring me, I miss the days of kicking them in the shin and giving them a wedgie.

The demonweb pits continues to be a giggle of high order.

A special thank you shout out to the geekier members of the wedding reception type thing that was going on that dropped in to socialise and indeed deliver food - thank you!

Alan posts: 321 United Kingdom

I've uploaded my photos from the event, gallery here.
