Update on the regular board games event at my place.
The session on the 11th of May is cancelled. Anyone thinking of attending on that date is encouraged to instead head on down to firebug in Leicester for some live music.
I've updated the calendar again with a fresh load of BCGA entered. There are a couple of Fridays - one in July, one in August when I have other commitments so there will be no games on those days.
So Zombicide is made out of premium grade, free range WIN.
Even if it does periodically slaughter us all it is barrel of laughs getting there. Now time for a "humorous" image of a root vegetable.
Snigger.
Omnomnom.
Yes, definitely a good fun game, Zombicide. Fun characters to play too. Co-operate or and die; Co-operate or and die; Co-operate and plan well or die.
On a final attempt, we all got out alive. Even the chick on skates with a chainsaw.
More pics here.

So this week (5th October) is going to be at an alternate location, ping me for details if you need them.
Permanent change of location coming soon, but since it will still be at Al's no need to change anything else.
Alan,
As a devoted cultist of Cthulhu, you might be interested in a little spreadsheet exercise I did a couple of weeks ago when whiling time away.
I posted the link on our game page. You can get it here too.
Basically, I have collected data on number and type of cards from the Arkham Horror Wiki and sorted out percentile chances of occurrence for a gate to open at a given location (based on Mythos cards) depending on which set-up in use. Since we play mostly with Dunwich Horror, Curse of the Dark Pharaoh and Innsmouth Horror, the table reflects that. If you are interested in different set-ups, let me know, the lion-share of the work in M$-Excel has been done and adding a couple of columns would not be too difficult.
From the tables you will notice that the number of cards added per location and per expansion ensures that usually three levels of probabilities (high, medium and low) are enforced and remain in the same order as those from the original game. The hight, medium and low categories are, for instance, for the base game:
The no-board expansions (CotDP, KiY, etc.) skew this High/Medium/Low paradigm a bit (from three to six different probability classes). I guess this is because they only add to the standard board. Still the differences are not much and the dangerous places, such as Woods, keep their ranking.
No matter how many or what expansion one uses, Independence Square will always be more likely to see a gate opening from a Mythos card than say, Hibb's Roadhouse.
Laurent,
That is very geeky indeed laurent. Well done and take a bow and thank you for sharing. Nice to see some facts backing up what I've come to expect from plays.
Statistics. We all know the woods is dangerous enough with just the Sheldon boys, without adding Cthuloids and Star Spawn into the mix.
Len,
Woods indeed is potentially the worst location for the reason you mentioned and some more:
On the good side:
Still this is a very annoying place that requires a seal as soon as possible.
Nothing beats hanging fire at the Newspaper while one's friends fight monsters, close gates, and risk getting devoured!
To avoid confusion the permanent change of location to "Al's place" has occurred. The first session occured Friday just passed went rather well. So anyone thinking of dropping in, do ping me first if you haven't had my new address.
The following might be of interest:
Fantasy Flight has released The Complete Arkham Horror F.A.Q. on December 5th last year.
This is a forty-three pages PDF about everything one can possibly ask about the game and every single one of its expansions, even those out-of-print like the first edition of Curse of the Dark Pharaoh.
There will be no BCGA happening on Friday 24th May 2013. Business as normal before and after that date.
