Thunderspire - Full Game

ON BEHALF OF BEN

Right people, due to the lack of games in the area I am looking to start a new game of 4th Ed on Thursday nights (weekly). We will be running Thunderspire Laberynth the 2nd of the pregen adventure, with the hope of moving on and working our way all the way to 30th level. If you have played this before you are welcome but please be mindful of those that have not, (there will be a little extra xp for good roleplay)

Players
I have 2 poeple that would like spaces but am willing to offer the other 3 out to anyone on a first come first serve basis,

Location
The location will be in Loughborough or north leicester still looking for an exact venu. Please let me know if you know of anyware with good transport links

Sources
Sources are currently PHB only (though can be 1, 2 or 3), which I concede could probably use a little more variation. If you have a specific idea for the character in mind and would like to expand please talk to me and i will have a look at it.

Creation
- You will be a 4th level character.
- Ability Scores as per the Standard Array, customised however you like using the rules provided (PHB p 17-18).
- No Evil alignments please - I trust everyone involved to be reasonable, but I'd prefer not to have to deal with Evil characters as they tend to get complicated fast.
- Deities are as the PHB1, p21-23 - Evil deities are included in the world, but I'd prefer nobody worships an Evil deity for the same reasons above
- Races as per PHBs
- Classes as per PHBs
- Skills as per class.
- Powers as per class. At 4th Level, you should have powers as follows:
At-Will: 2 powers - Levels 1/1 (3 powers if Human)
Encounter: 2 powers - Levels 1/3
Daily: 1 Power - Level 1
Utility: 1 Power - Levels 1
- Feats as per PHB. You should have 3 feats (plus any bonus feats from class or race).
- Hit Points can be quickly worked out as follows:
(3 x C1) + C2 + Constitution Score
C1 = 6 (Fighter/Paladin); 4 (Wizard); 5 (all other classes)
C2 = 9 (Fighter/Paladin); 6 (Wizard); 7 (all other classes)

Stuff:
You may choose 3 Magic Items, The levels of the items should be one above you level one at your level and one below. (Level 5,4 and 3), spend up to 650gp however you wish. This extra cash may be used to purchase more magic items (please bear in mind that we WILL be using the Magic Item Powers/Day rule), rituals, ritual components, potions, anything else you can think of that is not covered by 'mundane equipment', or may be stuffed into a (very uncomfortable) mattress for later use.

People can post up what charactes they are thinking of that would be great. I know we have a Drow Avenger (of the raven queen) and a Dwarf Ranger

Thanks

Ben

Never having played a magic user under 4e, I would like to climb on this bandwagon and play some spell-caster type. Perhaps some moody misfit who believes the world owes him a living. Not sure about race, probably human, but potentially would look at other races.

As always, I am quite willing to step back should there be a new member without a game, but its nice to be a player, and its nice to use different versions. I usually end up DMing 3.5, so a game playing 4e would be welcome.

If this takes place in north leic I could definately be interested. Would like the opportunity to play a Warpriest of Storms (from the new essentials add-on) if allowed, though if not I'm sure I can make an equivalent Priest from PHB's. Probably a sturdy dwarf.

Let me know if venue gets a definate.

Here is Glorik Halverson, a dwarven battle cleric of Kord (created using the character builder), is this ok?

Character looks good Mik, Noticed the Divine power and the weapon from the Adventure's Vault. Im trying to make it fair for all as not everyone has all of the books and would like everyone to start on a level playing field.

The Item is OK as there is treasure not in the PHB's in the 1st part, but could you pick one of the cleric powers from the PHB to make sure the game is balanced. Sorry but its only a minor change to make the game fairer for everyone.

My plan is to open up the Power books to people when you hit paragon level. these would be for Paragon paths and back training of powers if you would like.

We found a venue!!!

The Jack O Lantern in Loughborough...

You could throw stones at the train station for the commuters among us...and easily drivable for others with ample parking.

Come complete with small nook room which can close off from the rest of the pub and a nice woman who offered to make up a bit of food if we let her know before hand that we want it!

We are looking to start on this a week on Thursday is everyone still in?

Len posts: 1095 United Kingdom

YES I AM!

Mik posts: 48 United Kingdom

So that's the 25th November, what time for start/finish are we planning on?

Right, 25th at 18.45.

This time is for the commuters as train from Derby gets in at that time and the rest of us drive. This gives us 15 mins to get in and get sorted and then kick off at 7. And then run till about 10:30 when trains will come. This gives us a definite finish as most of us have work in some form the next day.

Let me know if people need change to the plan

Should be ok for me, looking forward to it - see you all there.

I HATE MY JOB!!!!

Boss dropped the bombshell today today that he's changing the shift patterns to cover recent staffing changes (ie so he gets more time off for golf!!) so I might not be available for Thursdays mad

Will know for definate by Friday evening of this week and let you guys know asap.

That's not good. Hope you can get it sorted

Mik posts: 48 United Kingdom

Sorry guys - bad news.

Shift changes at work mean that I wont be free on Thursdays for the foreseable.

Sorry to let people down, was looking forward to it myself :-(

Jaxtasha posts: 111

Boo...

I was looking forward to playing with you!! If we dont fill the spot and Thursdays free up, then join in later!!

In the mean time...

Anyone else make a regular Thursday game, in Loughborough DnD 4E?

Hey there.

Is there still a spot open in this game? If so, can I grab it?

Thanks very much.

Len posts: 1095 United Kingdom

Since Mik had to drop out, I imagine there is Charlie. (The real Charlie, not the fake Charlie.wink)

Great, I've talked with Ben and got a character made up, see you tonight. If I can find it I'll bring along my square mat thing.

Now I just need to find a miniature to represent him.
