Some RPG Stuff for Sale

Orpheo posts: 6 United Kingdom

Forgive that my first post on the new site is for me to sell stuff. I have lots for sale. I did ask if it was OK to do so on the other site and got an affirmative, so I'm assuming it is OK to do so here.

Most of what I have for sale is in very good to mint condition, anything in worse condition I have identified below. PM me for more information on anything you're interested in.

NOTE: I will not charge any extra for UK P&P. Yes I will post free to the UK.

D&D 4th Edition:

PHB (£13)
DMG (£13)
Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide (£15)
Forgotten Realms Player's Guide (£13)
Wizards Presents Worlds and Monsters (£10)

D&D 3.5:

Dungeon Master's Guide Special Edition Leatherbound (£45)

WFRP 1E:

Something Rotten In Kislev (Hardcover) The Enemy Within Campaign GW1988 (Some scuffing to corners, spine and edge of cover but in good condition)

If you buy all 4 Enemy Within Campaign books above then I will sell you the 4 for £65.

Traveller T20 The Travellers Handbook (d20 system)(£20)
Stargate SG1 Rpg(d20 system)(£20)

AD&D 2nd Edition Dragon Mountain Boxed Set (£20)

This is used but in good condition. The box is scuffed and battered and taped at 2 corners, but it is intact. The books and resources inside are in good condition. 2 of the player handouts have been cut out for use, but they are present.

Inside this box there are:

  • Three 64-page books, comprising two adventures that link into one super-campaign
  • 12 full-color reference cards
  • 16 special player handouts
  • Eight Monstrous Compendium sheets
  • A sheet of cardstock standups with 24 plastic bases Please Note, the plastic bases are missing from this set.
  • Six full-color poster maps, two of which link together to make a giant tactical playing surface for use with miniatures or the included cardstock figures.

The plastic bases for the cardstock standups are missing, but the set is otherwise complete.

MegaTraveller Science Fiction Roleplaying Game[BOX SET]
Includes Players' Manual, Referee's Manual, Imperial Encyclopedia, and 17"x22" map of the Spinward Marches.
This is used, but in fairly good condition. The box is taped at the corners, but otherwise intact. The books are intact in their bindings. There is some scuffing to the bindings and some minor peeling of the glossy surface of the binding at the bottom of the Referee's and Players' books. I'm looking for £20 (Including UK P&P).

God I am tempted by the 3.5 DMG in leather.mrgreen
You are an evil, evil, man to put such temptation my way.

I do not need it. I seldom look at my humble ordinary copy. Why on earth would I need a leather bound copy? See, that's not helping now is it?
That is more than 16 pints of Father Mike's worth of book.eek

Special editions are evil like that. They love that you hate loving them. And they strut around still knowing they are worth every damn penny.

Orpheo posts: 6 United Kingdom

lol
It incorporates all errata up to the time of printing.

There, you're humble, ordinary copy is simply, cover-to-cover, full of wrong. wink

Besides, you're worth it.

Orpheo posts: 6 United Kingdom

Oh. And girls love the leather.

Len posts: 1095 United Kingdom

You ain't helping either. What's more, you know you ain't helping.

I can't just forego 16 pints of Father Mike's. That would take months. I shall have to find other cuts to make.

Len,

I have the three 3.5 books in leather cover.santa

They look and feel great.
At £45 it is indeed a good deal, especially with free UK delivery, they retailed at £50 (well £49.99 for the pedants among us) if I am not mistaken.

While it is true they incorporated errata, WotC being WotC they still managed to get a few things wrong and produced another errata after that. The MM, even leather edition, was still riddled with small, and to be fair not game-breaking, skill ranks mistakes.

And NO I shall be civilised and NOT comment on the fire-sale of the 4e books wink... however tempting!wink

Hey, I dropped 4E 12 months ago after playing it for a year and switched to Pathfinder. It just lacked that je ne sais quoi. The firesale is long gone.

WoTC are incapable of writing accurate stat blocks and compelling adventures.

Laurent posts: 1029 United Kingdom

Orpheo,

Nope, not going to say anything! cool

Apart from running a Big Meet game still in 3.5 I swear only by Pathfinder RPG myself.

Accurate stat blocks are slightly easier to get now, they dropped the synergy bonuses for instance, but Paizo also makes mistakes. As I said, one has to be fair, these things are easy to mess-up.

I agree with the compelling adventure bit though.

Laurent,

Alan posts: 321 United Kingdom

yeah 'cos pathfinder is so much better, that is definitely something to be proud of.

Laurent posts: 1029 United Kingdom

Alan,

Vade retro!

Nope... will... not... trash... 4e...
Gah! This is tough! confused

Ah. The flames of the edition wars still kindle in the bellies of some. At this point I declare myself to be a non-combatant.

I played 4E and there is a lot about the game that I like, particularly the freedom afforded to the DM when designing monsters and the relative simplicity of planning encounters. There are other things I like too.

Ultimately I planted my banner in the Pathfinder camp as my game of choice.

One thing that really bothers me, as part of a dwindling minority group called roleplaying gamers, is not just how we diss each other's games, but how we outright refuse to play them. I've been trying to put a gaming group together in Lincoln; while I managed to get enough interested people, they couldn't agree about what to play.

"I won't play anything but game x."

"Well, I won't play anything but game y."

"X and y suck. I'm playing z or nothing!"

Gamers, we can't afford to behave like this with each other else we'll become extinct.

In a previous gaming group we had a guy come along who told me that he never would play D&D, could only play Angel Rpg (one of the groups regular games) with a serious amount of tongue in cheek and that my Traveler character, a slightly unhinged rogue based on Snake Plisken (Escape From NY), was too much of a cliche and far inferior to his washed up, former sports star. He wasn't invited back.

Would I play 4E again? Sure I would. It would be nice if you would indulge me in a game of PF at some point though.

Play each other's games everyone and if you can't do that then at least afford them some respect.

Now. Buy my stuff.

"Edition wars" aside, (only joking guys, every one knows AD&D was the best lol)

Wouldn't it be a great idea to have a sale/trade section on here.
Just a thought.

Orpheo posts: 6 United Kingdom

I'd give my right arm to play in a good old AD&D campaign. No, wait, that's my die rolling arm. I'd give my left arm to play in a good old AD&D campaign. Hold on, no, I use my left arm for... eek I've said too much.

I'd give someone else's right arm to play in a good old AD&D campaign.

Len posts: 1095 United Kingdom

We don't really have enough to make a sale/trade section worth while. Too many sections simply adds complexity and confusion. You just end up with lots of "dead" sections.

This way once a topic has lost interest, it will fade into the past pages unless the seller "refreshes" it occasionally. (and so you know, I find simply adding a post with the word "bump" to be a bit negative. I prefer adding something constructive, like "There are still some excellent things on offer here.") 'course people commenting like this also does a great job for you.lol

Don't lose faith on the DMG. I think I'm only trying to justify it to myself, and that just takes time.wink I will probably end up buying it if it isn't gone before I make my mind up; and if it is, then Moradin was obviously trying to tell me something.

Len,

I could be really evil and bring my copy at a Big Meet, letting you touch the leather (baby skin evil edition)... twisted

I think I know someone who would bite your hand off for the WFRP stuff. I'll ask her and post again over the next coupla days. ;)
