Seems to me like the humans faction should really be cultists given the overall humaninty is screwed, let the bad guys duke it out for scraps approach that seems to be the meat of the thing and while I kind of like the cartoony-ness its seems (like most cartoons these days it seems) a bit much of the anime style to it to fit the mythos well. But that is just my take.
