Venues
Rules
Respect the venue. These venues were not necessarily easy to come by and since there are only three real currencies in the world, time, good will and good fresh ground coffee we can't afford to muck them around. So show them due respect, in most if not all cases they are supplying a venue for our events free of charge, usually with some eminently reasonable expectation. Given most are bars that expectation is to use the bar for drinks and usually food/snacks too. Some venues are a bit flexible on this, others are not. If in doubt, check first. It is far from unreasonable for these places to expect us to use the services they provide. It'll be a pain in the neck if you have to find a new home for your game because the venue no longer wants us and there is every likelihood other groups will also suffer the same fate by association.

This is where we have held our monthly events since early 2006. There are several rooms of differing sizes available. You need to book a room, and make sure you know for certain it has been written in the book. Past experience shows it is best to book in person, when you can see them actually write it in the book. Bar staff get busy, and "I'll do it later when I get time" does not always get it done. With the best will in the world, snafus happen. You could end up not booked.
The place is a micro-brewery. Their beers are excellent, and their food takes some beating too.

A new venue for us. Close to Loughborough Station. There is a nice secluded room, enough for one game. They put on food if requested, and our experience of the food was good. Plenty of free parking. Friendly staff. All in all, a good find.

The present landlord (Alan) is happy to continue to host our games, provided those attending use the food and drinks services available it will cost us nothing. Should we wish to bring our own food and drink that can be accommodated but in that situation there will be a charge for using the space. Abuse of the free use by not sticking to the spirit of the agreement will mean having to pay for the space.
Long a venue for the Card & Board games monthly event for the group. This venue has both a small inside room suitable for one or two games, and also by arrangement the skittle alley which is entirely separate and would suit up to three games running at once. Friendly staff, and a co-operative licensee, Alan, who is always happy to help.
The pub now does hot/cold food too. Anyone thinking of having a game there just contact the pub to see if theres room available.

At time of writing I don't believe any games are running here but the Mow has hosted several campaigns. There is some free parking in the surrounding area, a paid for carpack behind the venue, it is close to the train station and bus links so transport wise it is a pretty great location. The upstairs area is where the gaming has taken place previously but a lot of other groups also use the space so finding a free night can be tricky. Best arranged by talking the staff there.

A pub that has just been refurbished, comfy sofas and for those that want to take table top seriously, plenty of tables! The landlord is an ex-gamer who wouldn't mind getting back into it. If there are any LAP gamers on there the venue would suit a modern lrp game.
