Who is Tobias?

Hero, trickster, philanderer, man of the people, Lord of the Manor, teller of tales, singer of songs, charmer of women, comfort to the sick, saviour of the helpless, lovable rogue, charming pirate, stealer of innocence, virtue's thief. Tobias "The Bastard" is some of these, and in his time has claimed to be all of them and many other things besides. Just who is Tobias?

The Man Himself
So far, Tobias has proven himself to be not without charms. His easy manner and quick smile have endeared him to some along the new-fledged Exarchs' journey, and he has skillfully negotiated, orated and persuaded his way with many people already.

He seems to have some ability with healing and magic, though the exact source of his power is unknown. Tobias is stealthy and quiet, and though he does not advertise himself as much of a fighter, has shown that he can be quite deadly with his pair of light straightblades when battle cannot be avoided.

Tobias has, however, shown himself to be a little reckless, sometimes acting before thinking, a habit which can lead quickly to complications. Regardless, travelling with The Bastard is rarely dull.

History
Currently, little is known about Tobias' past. He has made reference to his travels before reaching Skyborn, though the extent of those wanderings has never really been determined. Sol has heard Tobias tell of at least one of his adventures, though how much of that story is truth and how much fiction remains unknown.

"The Bastard" seems not to mind this appellation, and in fact revels in it to some extent, introducing himself by it wherever he goes, although his motivation for so doing has never become clear. In fact, Tobias' reasons for doing anything have so far remained mostly unqueried, including why such a seemingly irresponsible and free-spirited man would wish to tie himself irrevocably to the service of another creature.
