Tamuril Seregon

My name is Tamuríl Séregon. I am the eldest daughter of Rúmil Séregon of the Séregon-Anwamanë line of Eludilim Wood Elves, a well respected family within the village of Eludil. My family is highly regarded in these parts we are both socially and politically connected within Eludil and further into Cuidad Verde.

My story begins with my Great Grandfather, Turgon Anwamanë a High Elf who undertook the Cuerno Verde when it first started with the intention of gaining admission into the Comerciantes Verdes. The stories go that Turgon became an advisor to the Merciantes on matters concerning Gnome, Dwarf and Halfling communities, helping to establish trade routes, treaties and diplomatic relations. He considered this to be a great honour despite only being a small cog in an increasingly large machine.

I have been told my Great-Grandfather moved to Eludil in order to assist and advise the village leader here, and fell in love with the beautiful woodland, the people, and my Great-Grandmother. As Turgon aged he became less active with the Merciantes and more active within the village. The family grew large as did the village; his knowledge and travels made him a great storyteller and his experience proved invaluable to any member of the village wishing to undertake the Cuerno themselves.

My Grandmother, Ilúvënis was the youngest of their children and although all of her elder siblings underwent the Cuerno she made the choice to stay in Eludil and make a home with her beloved childhood companion, Ingwë Séregon. Although Turgon was disappointed by his daughters choice to not take the Cuerno his heart was gladdened by Ingwë’s passion to take it. From there no member of my family has ever entered adulthood without a Cuerno and although the tribe leaders tell me that at the time, this was no great shame, it seems weak that she chose the easier path.

It was Turgon who developed the idea of training the young for the challenge of being Cuerno Verdes. He set up a small school, educating those who cared to listen in the things he knew – Swordsmanship, Archery, History and Politics. Soon others returned from their travels and they added their knowledge to his. Now every adolescent is sent by their parents to be schooled by the returning Cuerno’s and all Cuerno’s take great pride in returning to their village to display all they have learnt and accomplished.

My father Rúmil was the third child but the first of our line to undertake a special mission for his Cuerno instead of entering service of the Merciantes. Although he has never spoken of the nature of his experiences he returned a skilled weapon smith, and fine swordsman. He reminds me of the stories of my Great Grandfather, although he is Wood Elf by blood. He is more tolerant of other’s ways and accepting of the differences in
people. When he returned he took over the school and married my mother, Laurë who taught magic and alchemy to the youngster of the tribe.

I now leave for Puerto Verde in an attempt to carve my own path. I decided to leave the tribe early and head to the port before my training was complete. I want to take my Cuerno where being an elf is not a sure route to an easy few years. I want to be challenged, I want to see more than the woodlands and I want to prove that I too can prove fearlessness in the Séregon line. My father has given me my great grandfather’s sword which went with his on his Cuerno, and was passed to my Grandfather, his most able student, and to my uncle, and then my father who has enhanced it and engraved it with the words

“Eludilim Forever”
