I started playing Dungeons & Dragons with the Frank Mentzer Basic Rules (a.k.a. the 'Red Box') which I picked up second hand from a car boot sale when I was about 12 years old. Through my school days I played and DM'd basic D&D and dabbled in Middle Earth Role Playing. In my late teens I discovered girls and rock 'n' roll and didn't give the funny shaped dice another thought until many years later, when my interest was rekindled via the D&D board game and computer RPGs. By chance my renewed interest in tabletop gaming coincided with the first few meetings of this group and I was able to pick up the then current version of D&D (3.5)
These days you'll usually find me promoting the group on various social networking sites and trying to drum up enough interest to run an old school D&D game in my home town of Loughborough, Leicestershire. My main areas of interest are fantasy and Sci Fi RPGs but I'm not an edition snob; I'll play or run anything!
My RPG blog is at oldschoolgaming.tumblr.com
