Bingli
Bingli
Bingli woke with a start to find himself in a smallish but well kept Inn room with a thumping headache, a bruise the size of a plum on his head and vague, shaming memories of being beaten in an arm wrestling match by an Elf woman.
"How much o' that beer did ah have?" He thought to himself
As he got unsteadily to his feet he began to remember how strange the last few days had been.
The trip had taken a strange turn a few miles out from the city of Platen with the chance meeting with an Elf carrying a rather wiffy dead goblin.....
"Damn Elves" Bingli grumbled to himself.
"An' what did all them dwarves in the bar find so interestin' about ma' lucky charm?"
Bingli: Dwarf Fighter and (maybe) Cleric
Indentured servant to the house of de Gracey.
Background:
Bingli has no real memory of his youth. He has foggy memories of cold hard stone floors, mountains and vague religious seeming rituals that marked the beginning and end of each day. He does not remember why or how he left that life and has tried very hard since to forget all he knew about his youth, either at the bottom of a pint pot or in a bar brawl. He has little to remember those days by apart from a silver 'lucky charm' he carries on a chain about his neck shaped like a hammer over an anvil and a battered and worn signet ring.
As an orphan on the streets of Pria Blanca he quickly learned that quick fingers and a quicker fist were the keys to survival on the mean streets. As he grew up Bingli began to earn himself a reputation as useful muscle if you had a big job that needed doing and as a "lucky lil sod" as one former employer put it. His luck ran out when he was caught in the
strongroom of a money lending house run by the de Gracey family holding several hundred gold coins, a crowbar, and the boot of a guard he had just used to knockdown the door. Offered the choice between indentured service until the Family saw fit to release him, or a half dozen crossbow bolts, Bingli chose the former.
Manner/Morals:
These days Bingli very much lives for each day as it happens and never really looks further than his next pint or fight as these are the only really enjoyable parts of his life. He cannot however escape the nagging feeling that he should be doing so much more with his life..... and his deepest wish is to escape his servitude and trek into the mountains to find his long lost kin but sees this as an unlikely pipedream.
Mission:
Bingli was often sent to fetch young Piers back from the Taverns of the city and keep him safe as he wandered the slums and gambling dens. This suited Bingli as he was often called upon to finish any brawl that young Piers had started with a quip about another patrons parentage. The family has sent Bingli to act as Piers' servant and bodyguard on his mission to investigate the ongoing troubles.
