Bandaluthia The Four

The ‘Four’

A small province outside of Palanthia City saw six young hell raisers tear up the streets of their usually quiet and peaceful township. They were the results of a dodgy batch of potions given to the local ‘ladies of the night’ to stave off pregnancy. Within two years eighty percent of the whores in the area gave birth to children whom had no idea of who fathered them. The where known as “Los Niños de la Poción Bastarda” or ‘Children of The Bastard Brew’
Many of these children died in infancy. The surviving girls started work at an early age, whilst the six remaining boys ran riots through the streets, and by the age of ten or so, entered Palanthia. The streets of the vast metropolis Palanthia were tough. Within a year, two of the six had been killed. The oldest of the remaining four, was called Victor. He took there deaths personally, he had called them brothers and wanted to exact revenge. Vic set up a job for the four with a small time casino near the docks of Palanthia. His tough talk, his obvious back up and their willingness to do anything to get off the streets secured them a place as drug runners. The four could earn more stealing and pick pocketing, but this gave them a contact to the underworld and a place to stay at night. After three months of this, Vic found the guy who had murdered his two friends. By now the four had bought knives and chain shirts. It was here that the four exacted revenge and made their 1st (2nd and 3rd) killings. Vic wanted to run as the third man fell, but Vandrel stopped him, and they fleeced the bodies. They took everything. They even smashed the gold tooth from one of their victims.

The next five years saw the boys turn into men. It saw them rise through the ranks of the casino drug scene and eventually they caught the eye of The Guild. A woman sat The Four down and asked them to make a choice. The small casino business or the Guild. When they gave their answer she demanded they kill their old boss to prove themselves. The four refused. They insisted that they kill only for their own protection or financial gain or vengeance. Vic explained that their old boss was not a threat to The Guild and that he had been very good to the boys. There was no reason to kill him. The woman looked pleased. She told them that if they had have killed him, then she would have no use for them, as it was not cold blooded killers she needed.

The Four worked The Guild but never saw that woman again for another three years. During this time The Four saved all their money and put Ronnie Gardo through college. Gardo learned forgery to a standard that few had attained, and certainly not within three years. Curtus Lemannski joined the town guard during this time and learned all he could from them in those three years. Vic and Vandrel organised raids on drug barons. One of these turned sour and all the crew being used in the heist died. Vic and Vandrel escaped and planned never to make the same mistake again. Their mistake was under equipped amateurs. The set up a meeting through The Guild with a gnome whose reputation for making specialist magical projectile devices was renowned throughout the continent. It was here that the now infamous crossbows were made through the negotiations and expertise of the gnome, Vic and Vandrel.

When The Four had finished their respective trainings, they rejoined and met up with the woman again. Her name was Safira. She was known as the ‘La Señora Azul’ and she made Vic head of the drugs arm of her Guild area. This saw The Fours infamy sweep through the underworld. However, on a raid of an Esquillan stronghold, Vic realised that he had been duped by false information. He had essentially been set up. There was no one there, except an ambush. Again, the only survivors were the four, but worse was to come. It was not only false information, but a Sting. Vic had been set up, and when he returned to The Guild, the pub had been razed to the ground, all inside were dead and his product had gone. The Four had lost over a million in Stargazer and 5 important Guild members lost their lives. Safira stood by them. Ruth herself had turned up to deal with this. With Safira’s aid, and some seriously swift thinking from The Four, saw them walk away with their lives.

The Four had promised to pay back the million in gold. Ruth gave them a week to settle their affairs within Palanthia City, but then wanted them gone. She agreed to Bandaluthia as their best way of repayments. Their last week in the city saw The Four exact vengeance upon those who lied, cheated and ultimately betrayed Vic and the other three. Palanthia City was no longer home. The Four travelled east at first. They felt this was an important journey, a journey to learn more of the drug trade and different ways to control distribution. They left Palanthia and into the wastelands of Kalasandran. Indala, Senagi, Nagoya and Jaruko were all visited and The Four learned of the Oriental ways of their drug lords. They continued from Jaruko on the epic and treacherous voyage to Esquilla. They stayed in Esquilla for several months and learned of the Cartels. They went north through Peruba, Mexama and into Kalasyria. Three years after Palanthia City had banished them, The Four came to the docks of Bandaluthia.

The drug scene is the only way The Four know how to make serious money and so that is what they started to do in Bandaluthia. The Four still owe a lot money to The Guild, but Jo-Arne has installed them (under strict rules and they are to be governed by Louis Silverblade) as Guild Members in Bandaluthia.
