Bandaluthia: Session 42

N’Thaal-Dar had just teleported the Jonger bound Animals on their Quest. The remainder sat down to breakfast but were disturbed by Liam, the cheeky young street urchin who had become The Animal ‘runner’. He had a message for Ratsel. The Message was from Jo’Arne.

A very good week last week. Special thanks to The Brotherhood and the Animals. Well done all round.

Jo’Arne Larenac.

It seemed that the Animals had entered into middle management, and Ratsel was proclaimed to be the leader. Liam had a verbal meeting for Ratsel as well. The Animals were summoned to The Timber Wolf pub at 12 o’clock by Genara.

It transpired that Bandaluthia had been split into five parts which were North, South, East, West and Central. Genara Was the Head of the West and Monterey, the Animals district, came in that section. The Animals were surprised to learn that not only were they the new force in Monterey, but Guild heads of Feyergas were to report to them too. A lot of pressure, responsibility and trouble had been heaped upon the relatively young shoulders of the Animals.

Genara held her speech to her seven Guild heads, held a public question and answer segment and then told the Guild members present to mingle. So they started to mix and talk more privately. The Feyergas Head was a halforc, but he was very likeable. He introduced himself as Turkish Gundar, and then introduced his associates as Ruby, Pony, Cortez, Har’Garay and Shar. He also offered the Animals a bonding session of a fight with a local gang. The Urban Brawlers had been trying to muscle in upon the Underworlds upheaval and wrest for power. The Animals agreed and said they would meet at The Blue Slaad at 9pm. The rest of the afternoon was spent social networking. Genara had her own people in place of two bodyguards, her Sage, her accountant and an advisor who turned out to be Thelonius. Thelonius barely acknowledged the Animals, but he later met with them and said that although he was now a Guild advisor, he was really a conduit for D’Jarra-Leon who of course was outlawed and could not be seen within Bandaluthia. Thelonius also offered any help and information that he could supply, but stated caution as their relationship may be construed as a conflict of interest.

Genara then approached her new Monterey Heads. She claimed that it was not her choice to use the Animals, and that she would have gone with a different setup. She said that although she had no person issue with the Animals, she thought that they lacked many of the qualities that it would take to get the job done. She asked the Animals to prove her wrong, and if they did, then she would be very pleased and grateful. Genara then gave the Animals a concise list of the Ravensly family tree, and suggested that they should all soon be dead.

The fight with the Urban Brawlers was not a heavy bout. Although the enemy had said there would be twenty fighters, more than four times this number came for the scrap. Over eighty men came running into Feyergas Park that evening, and only ten opposed them. Turkish told Pony and Ruby, two massive halforc hitters, to have freedom to express themselves and to unshackle their frustrations upon the Urban Brawlers. This was meet with a couple of low chuckles and drooling at the prospect of real violence. Shar, a female elf, had shunned all of Shaniqua’s attempts of a conversation, but Cortez, the thief, had said it is because Shaniqua was drow, and Shar’s racist traits was well forged and centuries old. Har’Garay and Ratsel stood side by side, and as the foolish Brawlers ran toward them, both spell casters let loose with fireballs. More than twenty men fell before a punch could be thrown. Shar started to shoot arrows into them at an astonishing rate. Cortez and Turkish leaped in and out of the fray, each killing with each strike. Ti Ying started to try and herd the gang, but the gang were intent on grouping together anyway, so he started to bash his way through them. Jacob tried to prove that his two bladed style was better than the halforcs great sword, but although Jacob proved efficient and killing one each time, the halforc duo of Ruby and Pony were just about on level terms with the wizards as they cut a huge swath through the numbers of the ruffian gang. Ratsel and Har’Garay let loose again. This time with Lightning bolts. Many more men were frazzled and this took them out of sight from the halforc body count. There were not that many left. Shaniqua had a small group of men she was working her katana through, but there were four left, and Shaniqua doubted her skills. Shar did pause before she let loose her bow, but ultimately she did slay two for the drow. Shaniqua dispatched the other two. With only a couple left, Pony went to help Ti Ying. The huge warrior bowed to the monk, before he beheaded the last of the Urban Brawlers. Ti Ying bowed back, ripped the still warm heart out of the last victim, and offered it to Pony, who greedily bit a chunk out.

Half an hour later, the ten Guild members ate a hearty meal at the newly named House of the Rising Sun. The team bonding was done, and both sides seemed pleased with the outcome of the days events. The only exception was perhaps the elves. Shaniqua made patient attempts at minor conversation, but all were rebuffed. Ti Ying seemed to have made a very large friend in Pony. Har’Garay and Ratsel seemed to get on well and Turkish seemed to get on well with all. Ruby seemed transfixed by Ratsel’s forehead and the big ruby that it held. When not staring at the tieflings forehead, Ruby laughed at Jacobs’s choice of weaponry was in tune with his winky claiming that they were like swords, but smaller and with that, Pony showed why he in fact called Pony. As the talk started to deteriorate from there, Ratsel asked Turkish (who had his head in his hands at Pony’s actions) how he planned to make the 2000gp a week that Genara had stated to be the figure each district was worth.

As talk turned to how best to run a Guild District, we leave this session. The promise of protection, prostitution, drugs, alcohol, gambling and other money making schemes will be discussed.
