Bandaluthia: Session 13

In the cellar of 22 Acacia Ave, The Animals have a prisoner. Bob. The four Animals in residence left the room to talk about what to do next. Bob meanwhile had tried to escape, but Shaniqua’s skill with the rope that bound him was too great. So when the Animals returned to their parlour where the ‘fly’ was well and truly caught all Bob could do was sneak sly remarks and derogatory looks towards the increasingly outraged Doogle.

The halfling duo of Coolio and Doogle stayed to keep Bob company while Ratsel, Shaniqua and the ‘heavy’ pairing of Gus and Raj went to the Blade of Orlathry pub. In the pub the odd couple of couples found a table, Shaniqua had a mojito and the rest drank soft beverages. Ratsel took himself off to scout with the guise of needing a whiz. He saw a few people who caught his rather alarmingly odd eyes. A councillor and then some people who might just fit the bill as associates of the man they believe to be in the child trafficking business. Donis Hathers. Ratsel returns and reports his findings. Shaniqua then scouts the other side of the pub, and locates the man himself. Ratsel tells Raj to walk around the pub and look for ways in and out. Then the four leave to discuss their discoveries and decide to take Donis Hathers there and then. Raj is then put in a taxi and told to bring Bob and the halflings. Then the three walk past the stables and ask the boy to fetch the horse of Mr. Hathers. The boy is startled at such a question, as Hathers has no horse. As they leave the boy runs off into the pub. So the three hid in the empty market stalls behind the tattoo parlour next to the pub. Within a minute Affe is sent to look out closely, and Shaniqua hides just next to the alleyway. Donis is seen walking out of the alley, and Shaniqua moves silently to get a closer look. Donis is not alone and his mate, a thief, sees not only Affe (who panics and runs back to Ratsel) but Shaniqua too. Alerted to the intruders, Donis goes for his sword. Shaniqua slaps dark on the floor and crawls as if her life depended on it. (It did!) Ratsel rushes Gus out to fight and stands behind the behemoth. Gus and Donis stand off and then clash. Bastard sword against dire flail. Realising all too quickly that if Gus fell Ratsel would be next, Ratsel shape changes into a WO1 City Guard. He calls from within the new guise for the two to halt the fight. Donis and Gus stop, a few words of apologies are exchanged and Donis and the thief are away. The three run off just as the taxi with Raj, Coolio, Bob and a fuming Doogle turn up.

In the taxi, Satyr and Sickle bound, Doogle tries to intimidate Bob further. Bob seems nonchalant to it all. Ratsel enters the pub and a smile of dawning spreads across Bob’s face. He tells them that they are guild, and that he should be released as he is a guild associate by way of being a Water Rat. The Water Rats are a sub-guild on the docklands. Not only is he a Water Rat, but his brother is “King Rat”
Ratsel has Bob’s ring and dagger identified to find that they are very nicely enchanted indeed. Ratsel also learns of Bob’s association. Upon his return to the taxi Ratsel gives Bob his stuff back, and makes a deal in the region of 2k for his continued assistance. Then orders the taxi to Monterey Park. On the way Doogle tries to stick his dagger to hold Bob. Indeed the halfling gets a good measure of Bob’s trousers and pins them to the taxi. Bobs trousers rip, and hold him very little, but the intent of the action was not missed by Bob himself. Bob then tells Coolio and Ratsel that he will gladly do all that he has promised, but he’ll do it for free and put the money into a contract for Doogle. Before anyone can respond, Bob casts dark and all goes inky black. Reaction times show well here for peoples intentions. Shaniqua rolls well and her action is to get out of the taxi. Ratsel, too, leaves but he tells Gus and Raj to restrain the Water Rat. Gus reaches out and headlocks Bob. Doogle leaps into a grapple, but only gets Raj’s leg. Coolio stumbles over Doogle, but manages to stick Bob with his dagger in the process. Raj swings his huge and mighty falchion and hits Gus as well as Bob. In the confusion, and having his head released a little from the pain caused to Gus, Bob throws himself back, out of the taxi and onto the floor. Bob then runs, within his dark spell. Shaniqua follows the darkness and Doogle follows the blood trail from the several wounds Bob has. They lead to the not so far away Satyr & Sickle.
Inside Dave is being asked by Bob for a little sanctuary. Dave grants the request. Shaniqua is beside herself with fury as it always seems to get really bad really quickly and that perhaps a little more thought in certain situations is called for? Ratsel enters the Satyr to try and make amends for any misunderstanding, but Doogle is awaiting out the front, sword in hand to damage Bob some more. Ratsel placates Doogle enough to let Bob leave as he needs to find the Arch Angel within the next 7 hours. Doogle, with as much will power as he can muster, agrees to leave Bob alone… for now.

It is agreed that Bob will return by midnight to tell Coolio where his sister may be held.

Will 6 hours be enough to put together a rescue?
