Bandaluthia: Session 7

Shaniqua’s training finishes and she goes to the Satyr & Sickle for a night cap. Dave intercepts her and tells her of her friend’s indiscretion of Town Guard murders. Dave offers Shaniqua a Guild “Cleaner” for the sum of 5000gp. The man called Terence prefers the moniker of ‘Mr. Wolf’ The half drow and Mr. Wolf head for The Whip Inn where the cleaner takes all outer garments and large weaponry from the four boys involved, and he leaves. Shaniqua then lays into the guys for being less than intelligent for their part in the events of just a few hours previous. All the ruckus in the corridor of a busy Inn at 3 in the morning is not appreciated by all patrons. A door opens and a diminutive muscle man pokes his head out and shouts
“Wit ar yees doin wit awl da noyse? Sum o us is tryin ta sleep doon ‘ere, jus keep it doon awlrit?” The wee man looks like he has had a proper pasting from someone. This fact does not seem to play on the sympathies of Hellhound or Tyven. The latter picks up the well muscled halfling and shouts at him
“They took my glaive!” then hurls the small barbarian away from him. Doogle lands on his feet and thinks about a fight. The odds are massively against him, with Hellhound (who might be trying to smile at him, but it appears as a vicious sneer, who can tell if you are as ugly as he?) and Tyven who just stare the halfling down.
“Yees ar looky ah am batter’d by da noo. ‘else ah’d a fooked yees up rite enuff!” and Doogle shuts his door. The rest return to bed.
Dave turns up the following morning to say that the perpetrators of the heinous crime of the Town Guard murders have all been apprehended, and will be executed at dusk in the City Market Place. Coolio seems a little upset by this news, and decides to go to confession with Father Imao, but tells the rest he is taking Doogle to get healed up. Shaniqua has to go shopping to restock the Animals fighting prowess. Ratsel gives her the 500gp gem that Dave gave him, and then Ratsel retires for a study session. A pub bound Hellhound soon grows bored and decides that he wants to be a blacksmith, so he goes to find a tutor. Tyven sits in the bar drinking cold coffee looking hopefully at anyone who enters and mumbles “Glaive?” for the rest of the day.
Shaniqua orders some goods from the guild, and promises to pick them up later.
Doogle is all healed up, and eats cake constantly from 2nd breakfast through until elevenses. Brother Coelho asks Father Imao what would happen if a halfling was wrongfully arrested for a crime that he didn’t commit. Father Imao assures Coolio that the halfling will be guilty of several crimes, and that he, Coolio, is entitled to one mistake. He also suggested that Brother Vinny might take a closer look into the deeds of Brother Coelho. Father Imao likes Brother Coelho, and would not want to see Coolio stray too far from Brother Coelho’s side.
Coolio decides to introduce Doogle to The Nebblestone. Here Doogle buys a couple of pints, as Coolio meets up with another halfling who they’ve met before. This time the halfling is very cool with Coolio, and declares himself as Guild. A brief conversation agrees a 10% fee for the brokering of a jewellery sting to be set in motion at an hour past midday tomorrow. Then Coolio and Doogle try to return to the Whip Inn for lunch, but the time makes fools of them, and the ten minute walk from the Satyr & Sickle would have made them miss a meal, so they frequent nearest pub for food. Whilst their, Coolio asks Dave to be a member of the Guild himself, now that he is also a follower of Dallah Thaun. Dave agrees, and says that Brother Vinny has already sounded him out.
Coolio is a little startled to hear of Vinny’s involvement, but doesn’t neglect to tell Ratsel that Dave was cosy with a very attractive lady. The wizard and cleric/thief guess that it may be Anastasia.
After a mid afternoon meal, the group decide to steal cash, or rob a house or mug some old lady during the execution. They figure that the Town and City Guard will be busy. Shaniqua returns to the Guild to pick up her order, but her impulses make her buy a horse. Shaniqua then trots around for a while to scope the Gem Quarter. After she decides that there just is not enough time to play out such a heist she heads for the City Market Place. Coolio, Ratsel, Tyven and Doogle all head out separately to witness the executions. Hellhound has decided that if he trains as a blacksmith today, by Monday then he will have created master work plate mail to fit him!
A Town Guard Officer tells the thousands in attendance that murder of this kind will not be tolerated. After a brief speech and the heads all removed simultaneously, the point is made apparent that both the City and Town Guard are the law here in Bandaluthia.
