Bandaluthia: Session 2

Shan and Coolio find the warehouse that belongs to the North Jongerlese suspects, and have a little look around the place with the help of an old acquaintance of Shan’s (Jack, a young member of the ‘Cobblestone Kids’) they break into the grounds (via the manure pile) of the warehouse to discover several stables with only a few horses in residence. Jack has only eyes to steal the horses, but Coolio assures him that they make gold crowns in the building. This distracts Jack for long enough for them to try a break in, but all attempts are fruitless. Then, they are disturbed to hear people opening the main doors! They run off, but Jack tries to cover up the fact that he landed in manure upon entry, but makes a hash of it (rolls 1 on a d20) and leaves a trail of horses poo up the nice clean white walls!
The two (as Jack has scampered off) then follow another clue and go to the spice shop. Here they meet the owner (good resemblance to the kwik-e-mart owner Apu Nahasapeemapetilon) who tries to sell them the entire contents of his shop. He manges to get Coolio hooked on pistachio nuts, but also helps find the spices which would go into a Northern Jonger lamb curry. The duo head back to The Whip Inn.
The team meet up and are about to discuss the next step, when Shaniqua sees an event that happens a hundred times a night. A guy tries to pinch the landlady’s bum. Taking offence, the half drow tries to talk to the guy, only for him to take a startled look at the grey visage of her, and then pulls a knife under the table. Hellhound goes to the rescue, going through a table just as a crossbow bolt goes through him. The goose guy has a friend! The mighty half-breed abomination takes it well and smacks the friend again, but not before Hellhound takes more damage from a blade. Ratsel feels the need to help, and sends a magic missile streaking across the full pub, taking down the friend. The goose guy smacks his punching dagger into the jaw of Hellhound who in return hits back, with those exchanging blows Shaniqua bravely stabs the guy from behind, as Ratsel lets yet another missile fly. This one is not fatal but Tyven leaps into the affray, jumping onto a table, and then leaps off whilst bringing his sword down. The sword hits the floor with a ringing clatter, but the goose guy falls away in two. He is cut from head to groin all the way through. The crowd gasp at the brutality of the quick fight, but the landlady sends them away to bed, and deals with the mess before any guard turn up. Only Tyven and Hellhound take this order as they are both still quite drunk, but now Hellhound is as close to death as he has been.
The others spend the next part of the night in a couple of pawn shops, where the rogue, wizard and cleric sell some of the goods they have ‘acquired’ from earlier. They then go to The Nebblestone Inn where Coolio sows some seeds of a confidence trick. Ratsel stares down an apparently drunk halfling, who seems to sober up quick when discovered to be not so drunk. This halfling sends a runner, and the trio leave only to be followed by a boy halfling. When questioned, this lad tells them he is only following orders and Ratsel tells him to run along. Then the halfling they saw in the pub steps off a roof, floats down and tells the trio they did well by not killing his boy, and he walks off.
