Bandaluthia Hellhound

Hellhound.

Just 15 winters ago a man walked toward his market stall long before dawn. His head bowed against the biting rain and chill wind. He heard screams of pain and anguish. He hurried toward the sound, and there in an alleyway off Oyster Bay road behind the Grocers, Harry found a dwarf clutching the ugliest baby he had ever seen. The baby screeched, and the dwarf woman sobbed. Harry rushed to her side.
“How can I help?” he exclaimed, terrified by the scene, but the kindly man needed to assist.
“Kill me” sobbed the woman. By now, the baby had won his first battle, and found the dwarf woman breast. Harry looked around, and saw the horror of the childbirth that the dwarf lay in. There was too much blood Harry realised. He tentatively pulled up the cloth, not much more that a sack, and saw the woman in tatters. There was no way she could live for much longer. The baby, far too big for a dwarven baby, suckled noisily and greedily at his mother’s breast.
“Take this thing away and leave me… Please” the dwarf begged. Harry knew little of dwarves, but knew them to be family orientated.
“I could get a cleric, maybe they will save you?”
“I will be killed by my own kind if I bring it back, and I don’t want to bring shame to my father”
Harry was torn.
“I don’t want this Pig Son. It taints my bloodline. Please take it away, and leave me to die. Please!”
Harry dithered. He tried to comfort the woman. The woman tried to push the feeding child from her, but had not the strength. In minutes, the woman passed. Harry hoped that Moradin (for he was sure that was the dwarf God name?) would accept the dwarf woman to his form of heaven. Harry had asked the woman her name several times, but she had refused to share any knowledge of her background. Harry let the child feed, then picked him up and took him back to his wife Jess.
Harry and Jess had tried for years to have children, but had been unsuccessful. Both wanted to keep the child, but tried to do their best by him and tried to pass the baby on to churches, orphanages and even the council but none would take in the abomination of a half dwarf - half orc. In the end, they took the child home. They had called him Osketh.
Osketh grew quickly; as he ate anything he could get his hands upon. He ate spiders and insects as a toddler, he ate rats and even cats and dogs as he learned to run. Harry bought back lots of fish, to which Jess was a great cook, but Osketh would eat the heads, guts and bones as well. By the age of 6 summers, Osketh could no longer be contained in the house. Jess, and to a lesser degree Harry (as he worked 6 and a half days a week) aged rapidly. Bringing up Osketh was incredibly hard. Finally Jess succumbed to his demands of being let out, and Osketh ignored any and all attempts of curfew. So at the age of 6, Osketh became a child of the street. He got into fights with kids much older and beat them all, sometimes two or three at a time. The kids on the street had names for him. It was ‘Dogboy’ or ‘Piggyface’ or plain ‘F**kugly’ these names earned the caller a beating, but there was one name that took with no retribution.
“Hellhound” was borne into the street. Over the next few years, Osketh went home very little, and the spells away became longer. After his tenth winter, Osketh went home no more. Hellhound had earned a reputation for being the meanest kid in South Monterey. His reputation grew, as did the list of offences he took on. From street brawling and mugging to theft. From those to murder. However, with the case of murder you need a body. Rumour has it that Hellhound eats his victim’s clothes and all.
It was just before the last winter. A gang from the North of Monterey decided to take Hellhound down. A gang of eight men, all wielding weapons beat Hellhound to within an inch of his life, before they where disturbed, and ran off. Three did not run off, and only two ran without limps. It was here that Sam, Bam and Ram bought near dead half dwarf/orc to their house on Acacia Avenue to see if the little cleric already in residence could assist.
And so the boy hellhound turns into a man. He has no prejudice. He does not care that he may be dwarf, no care that he may be orc. Hellhound is as he is. He likes to fight, and he likes to drink. Anything or anyone who gets in the way must move or be moved. An uncomplicated man although pride in his own reputation is maybe his only vanity.

Due to certain errors in judgement, being The Hellhound has become a dangerous person to be. In just 5 days since the slaying of Pete and the girls, the Hellhound has managed to alienate himself from society. The actions of killing Town Guards, other guild members and several assassins have proved to be the downfall to this once 'proud to be different' man. Hellhound sought to disguise his obvious form to those who would see him dead and those who instantly recognise such a distinct figure. Hellhound went to see a high level wizard, who polymorphed him into a "Joe Public" fighter type. A 6ft 200lb human male with brown hair and brown eyes. Hellhound is no more. Step forward Hollenlord. Dorc or Orf to his friends. Bandaluthia has a new menace, and he is The Hollenlord.
