Atara,
I have not yet written to you alone, I hope that A’mael’s training is going well and she is a good student.
You will be no doubt pleased with the news of my party having a strong magical aura. I hope Sinta or Atar has told you we have two Istars one of which is a specialist Ita'istar. I think they find it hard to be Cuerno’s as they seem fragile and battle shy. I would worry that A’mael would not do well without the protection of others like myself or Megilar should she not take some lessons in the sword. We have also recently met a Rah'edan Amandil of Correllon which adds another magical dimension to our party.

I am writing this quick note to you about our most recent mission. We met a fish salesman on the road today who was going out of business from a rival across the other sea. He could not pedal his fish and was returning home with most of his stock unsold. Myself and Luthien, our Taur'ohtar and the others offered an idea to prepare the fish in a meal that could be sold to weary travellers. It seemed to be a success on the road, and has made us a little silver whilst we travelled but also gained us a clip and recognition when we entered Cuidad Verde with the recipe. It seems not all your teaching of herbs and vegetation were wasted on me after all.

Atara,
I am disturbed by the latest in my mission. We found th house of a wealthy Peredhil Merciantes, Merryweather
Stout as we were instructed by Belogard Unrnstwill. He was not the nicest of men, and his house was more like a fortress than a house. Once we were inside we requested a task from him. He sent us to escort some payroll to his Logging Camp. Although this seemed a mundane and easy task to be set, the things we saw there did not rest well with me. I write for your counsel, or at least by writing to you, I can imagine your counsel.

The conditions of the camp were awful. I would not wish that any of our Nessa were ever taken in for their
Cuerno by Merryweather. I understand that we have no standing within a community until we have taken a Cuerno but these were treated more as slaves than workers.

Close to the camp so we could see it on the way into it was a graveyard for “Failed Cuernos” a bleak prospect for anyone arriving to undertake theirs. We were told to stay in the dormitories of the Cuernos which was flea ridden and a grim place to be for a single night let alone the duration of a Cuerno Verde.

Carlton was sure we were being watched, it unnerved us enough to go and investigate the place that he saw someone. Luthein told us something had been there, standing for a long while, but he could find no evidence of anything coming or going. What just arrives, and watches?

When we left the camp, the wagon we accompanied headed of to his mine with wages for the miners, we
accompanied a different wagon back which apparently contained ore and “goods” from the mine. We spotted a large humanoid following the cart we had just left, but hey all seemed unbothered by this, we were told it was probably a troll and they wouldn’t attack it anyway.

Things don’t all add uo Atara, what mine produces goods? They would all produce ore wouldn’t they? Why would we be employed as guards when they are not concerned with attacks? And who was watching, and were they watching the camp or us?

Please do not worry, we are safe together, the party is strong and Atar’s skills are with me and my
blade. I only wished to voice my concerns to someone, and you are always the best listener.

Amin noldo Atar ar' Atara,
I am deeply sorry for not writing you to you both sooner, I dearly hope you have not suffered any unnecessary worry on my part. Our mission got quite a bit more complex and dangerous. No doubt Megilar and A’meal have been keeping you informed when I have managed to pen a few lines to them.

I have now made it across the mountain pass relatively unharmed, we had a few times when things were not looking so good for us, but we have good companions with great sense, power and friends all of which
helped us through. The Rah'edan I spoke to you about previously often causes more trouble than is necessary for us, and I am no closer to understanding this strange beast’s motivation than when we last spoke. However our companion who seems to be Astra’s guardian or protector has proved noble and useful. Although he makes no secret of being there to look out for Astra’s interests he seems to wish him to fight his own battles and only intervenes in Cuerno related issues if we are in mortal danger. He leaves us free to make mistakes and choices between ourselves. His connections have saved us more than once while we have been travelling. The Ogre has also proved to be a formidable ally. He is wise and intelligent but somewhat strage to me also, he never seems to be an integrated member of our party, ands yet protects every member of it, even the Rah'edan, whom he doesn’t appear to like.

We have battled giants and their dogs as well as some other strange beasts which were sent after us. We
only really got out of that situation from the quick mind and stature of Kor’Ath, the Ogre but are now indebted to the giant when we next return. For now we are free of it, and will have to formulate a plan to get back through the pass.

I have now gained five brands and three clips, we have the mark of Belogard, Silindu, Tinwen, Tiran-gal, and Merryweather Stout, and gained another clip from a fish seller for assisting him in his sales. My Cuerno is looking respectable!
